Good Friday Pageant: Malta's Sacred Tradition

Referred to in Maltese as ‘Il-Gimgha l-Kbira’ or ‘The most important Friday of the Year’, Good Friday is observed as a day of mourning. In the afternoon, pageants take place in major towns and villages. Streets become open-air theatres, commemorating the cycle of suffering, death, and resurrection.

  • Zejtun - This tour begins with a drive to the charming village of Zejtun. Upon arrival, a brief stroll will lead to the Church, where participants can settle in and appreciate the stunning procession. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to explore the beautifully adorned Church either before or during the procession.
