• Ravana Ella Falls - Ravana Falls is another must-visit attraction in Ella. Situated in Sri Lanka’s hill country, it is renowned for its stunning waterfalls. Visitors can climb over rocks to get a closer view of the falls. If you love water, Ella is the ideal destination. Swimming is possible, but caution is advised as the rocks can be slippery. Currently, it is ranked as the largest waterfall in the country, standing approximately 25 meters (82 feet) high, cascading from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. During the local wet season, the waterfall resembles an areca flower with withering leaves, but this changes in the dry season when the water flow significantly decreases.
• Nine Arches Bridge - The train tours to Sri Lanka’s highlands are among the best, and the Nine Arch Bridge is a key highlight. This bridge is one of the most remarkable engineering achievements of the 20th century, connecting Ella and Demodara stations. Nearly 100 years old, it was constructed using cement and stone blocks without concrete or reinforcing iron. The bridge connects to the mountains through its giant arches and was commissioned by the British Government in 1921.
