Journey to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park - Begin your adventure with an early breakfast at your hotel in either Kampala or Entebbe. Your guide will meet you there to start the journey southwest to Mgahinga National Park. Along the way, stop at Kayabwe at the Equator for a unique safari experience, where you can participate in a water experiment, take memorable photos, and enjoy the rare opportunity of standing in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres of the Earth.
Continue the drive with a lunch break at Igongo Country Hotel or in Mbarara. As you travel through the picturesque countryside, you’ll arrive in Kisoro by evening, where the rolling green terraced highlands of Kigezi offer breathtaking views perfect for photography. Proceed to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Exciting Hike to a Volcano
Virunga Volcanoes - After an early breakfast at the lodge, with packed lunch boxes, head to the park headquarters to begin your hike. Starting from the Ntebeko reception area, choose to hike one of the three volcanoes: Muhavura at 4,127 meters, Sabinyo at 3,669 meters, or Gahinga at 3,474 meters, depending on your fitness level. This full-day activity includes a picnic lunch.
The trails to the summit offer diverse forest species, including birds and primates, along with stunning views of lakes and agricultural villages. The volcano summits provide breathtaking vistas of neighboring Rwanda and DR Congo.
Return to the lodge later in the day for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi - Start with an early breakfast at the lodge, then head to the Ntebeko reception area for the Golden Monkey tracking experience. These endangered primates are found in the beautiful bamboo forests of the Virunga ranges, with Mgahinga being part of the greater Virunga Massif. During this adventure, search for these primates in the wilds of Mgahinga National Park, where gold meets silver. Spend an hour with them once found, then return to the starting point.
Afterwards, return to the lodge for lunch, check out, and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, renowned for its stunning beauty. Upon arrival, proceed to your booked accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Canoe Ride on Lake Bunyonyi and Transfer to Bwindi
Lake Bunyonyi - Enjoy a delightful breakfast at the resort while taking in the serene views of the lake. Later, embark on a breathtaking canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. This 2-3 hour boat experience offers stunning views of the terraced Kigezi Highlands and the opportunity to explore some of the lake’s 29 islands, such as Punishment Island. The ride also provides sightings of numerous birds skimming the waters.

Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Begin with an early breakfast, then transfer to the park headquarters with packed lunch boxes. After a briefing from the ranger, enter the forest for the day’s ultimate adventure. Trekking is challenging, with steep, slippery terrain and dense vegetation, making it a park for the brave. The chilly weather and terrain create a unique ambiance.
Search for the Mountain Gorillas, and once found, spend an hour in their presence. Tracking can last a few hours or the entire day, depending on the gorillas’ location and movements. Return to the starting point and head back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Depart Bwindi for Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the lodge before leaving Bwindi and heading north to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enter through the southern section via the famous Ishasha sector, known for its tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a game drive in Ishasha for a chance to see these elusive lions resting in tree branches or stalking prey in the grasses.
Spotting the kings of the East African savanna plains is a remarkable experience. Continue to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Safari Game Drive and Launch Trip in Queen Elizabeth
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Start with breakfast at the lodge, then explore the savanna plains in search of diverse wildlife. The undulating savannas are home to various mammals and birds, including Uganda Kobs, Warthogs, African Elephants, and Buffaloes. After lunch, proceed to Kibale Forest National Park. Check in at the lodge upon arrival, where you can relax for the evening, enjoy dinner, and stay overnight. The lodge is set in a serene location with the beautiful sounds and scents of nature.
Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Nature Walk
Kibale Forest National Park - After an early breakfast at the lodge, transfer to Kanyanchu for an exciting chimpanzee tracking expedition. After a briefing from the ranger, set off at 8:00 AM to track these delightful apes. The forest is rich in primates, with over 13 species and more than 1,500 chimpanzees. Expect to see various species during the walk. Spend an hour observing the chimps once found, then return to the starting point and head back to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, visit Bigodi Wetland near the park for a nature walk in the sanctuary, which serves as a wildlife corridor. The wetland is home to various species, including birds like the Great Blue Turaco, primates, and mammals like the swamp-dwelling Sitatunga. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park - After an early breakfast, check out from the lodge and head north through the greater Bunyoro region, one of Uganda’s oldest kingdoms. Stop for lunch in Masindi town, then continue to the park, arriving in the early evening. Visit the top of the falls for stunning photos and experience the power of nature at the roaring falls. Proceed to your booked lodge through the Northern Bank, where you may spot some wildlife.
Safari Game Drive and Launch Trip
Murchison Falls National Park - Start with an early breakfast at the lodge, then embark on a morning game drive through the Northern Bank to see a variety of wildlife. The rolling savanna plains are home to species such as Jackson’s Hartebeests, Cape Buffaloes, Rothschild’s Giraffes, Lions, and many more, as well as birds. Early mornings are ideal for spotting predators before they retreat to their hideouts.
After lunch, prepare for an afternoon launch trip along the majestic River Nile. The cruise upstream culminates in a frontal view of the astonishing falls, offering some of the best photographic moments in the African wilderness. The trip along the Nile provides views of wildlife like Nile Crocodiles and Hippopotamuses, as well as birds along the banks, cliffs, and trees.
Rhino Tracking at Ziwa and Return to Kampala
Rhino Fund Uganda - Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge, check out, and drive through the park, with a chance to see more wildlife at dawn. Continue through Masindi, past Kafu, and stop in Nakasongola district at Nakitoma village, home to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Conclude your 12-day safari with a Big Game encounter by tracking rhinoceroses in the sanctuary, one of the African Big Five.
Have lunch at the sanctuary, then embark on the journey back to Kampala, arriving in the evening. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your flight home.
