Departure to See Chimpanzees in the Wild
Kibale National Park - The driver guide in Uganda will pick you up from your respective hotels in Entebbe, and you will travel to Kibale National Park via Fort Portal city. The 5-6 hour drive offers scenic views of tea farms, crater lakes, and the majestic Rwenzori Mountains.
Chimpanzee Trekking
Kibale National Park - After breakfast, join the other guests for a briefing on the guidelines for chimpanzee tracking. A Kibale park guide will lead you in search of chimpanzees, an adventure that typically lasts 2-4 hours and includes an hour of close interaction with these primates. As you walk through Kibale Forest, you will also spot a variety of other primates and birds in the wild.
In the afternoon, after returning and having lunch, you will visit Bigodi Wetland. Here, you will encounter more primates, including colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, baboons, and birds like the Great blue turacos.
Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Early in the morning, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth Park, Uganda’s second-largest park. The trip offers scenic views of crater lakes, banana plantations, and the majestic Mt. Rwenzori. Arrive at the lodge early for lunch and relaxation until the afternoon, when you will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This offers excellent views of aquatic life such as hippos, crocodiles, and birds like skimmers, pelicans, and fish eagles.
Game Drive and Launch Cruise
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After breakfast, embark on a memorable guided game drive through Kasenyi Plains. You will see a variety of small and large mammals, including elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, leopards, lions, and antelope families, as well as bird species. After game viewing in Kasenyi Plains, enjoy lunch, and in the afternoon, embark on a guided launch cruise. The Kazinga Channel launch trip allows you to view mainly aquatic species: hippos, crocodiles, and birds like pelicans, skimmers, fish eagles, and kingfishers.
Drive to Bwindi National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Depart early in the morning and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Before leaving Queen Elizabeth NP, enjoy a short game drive in the Ishasha sector, a popular area for spotting tree-climbing lions.
Gorilla Trekking
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Today is a special day, and you should be fully prepared for the remarkable gorilla trekking experience. The gorilla trek in Bwindi begins at 8:00 am, with park guides assigned to groups of 8 visitors to lead through the forest in search of mountain gorillas. The trek may last 2-6 hours and includes one hour to observe and photograph the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
Cross to Musanze Rwanda
Musanze District - After breakfast, you will be picked up at the lodge in Bwindi N/Park. Set off in a 4×4 vehicle and drive via Kabale town to the Katuna border, where you will connect to the lodge in or around Volcanoes National Park.
Gorilla Trekking
Volcanoes National Park Rwanda - After a hearty breakfast, you will be briefed on gorilla trekking rules, and gorilla families will be allocated to each group of 8 visitors. The trek to find the gorillas takes about 2-6 hours, depending on the visitors’ pace. Once families are assigned, you will begin your search at 8:00 am. Enjoy a face-to-face encounter with gorillas in their natural habitat for one hour. Upon returning, relax at the lodge and later visit the Iby’Iwacu cultural village.
Golden Monkey Trekking
Volcanoes National Park Rwanda - After an early morning breakfast, report to Kinigi for a briefing on the rules for golden monkey trekking. The trek lasts 2-4 hours, navigating through the bamboo forest, with a guaranteed one hour in the presence of golden monkeys.
Visit Nyungwe
Nyungwe Forest National Park - Depart from the Northern region to Nyungwe Forest NP in the Southern province, enjoying the spectacular view of Lake Kivu. This park is rich in faunal and floral species, with 13 different primate species, including mangabeys, silver monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and 310 species of birds.
Colobus Monkey Trekking Plus Canopy Walk
Nyungwe Forest National Park - Over 400 colobus monkeys reside in Nyungwe Forest National Park, and today, you will visit habituated groups. A park guide will lead you on a 2-4 hour trek to see colobus monkeys. After returning, enjoy lunch and then embark on a canopy walk, taking you on a suspended walkway 60 meters above the ground.
Nature Walk and Transfer to Kigali City
Nyungwe Forest National Park - Embark on a guided forest walk for 2-3 hours, exploring the rich trails of Nyungwe Forest National Park. The hiking and nature walking trails in this park allow you to search for primates, birds, and other floral species.
Departure
Kigali - Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the morning, after which the driver guide will pick you up. The drive from Nyungwe to Kigali takes about 6 hours, and if your flight is scheduled for today, you will be dropped off directly at the airport.
