Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Ideally, your flight will arrive in Uganda early in the morning. Your safari adventure begins at Entebbe airport, where your Driver/Guide will greet you, provide a tour briefing, and then set off for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park is a significant habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda, home to over 300 of these magnificent creatures, making it a must-visit safari destination.

The journey will take you southwest through Uganda by road, crossing the Equator, then to Mbarara for lunch, and through the Savannah grasslands to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The picturesque drive through the Kigezi Highlands, often called “the Switzerland of Uganda,” and banana plantations leads you to the gorilla sanctuary of Bwindi NP. Upon arrival at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will primarily check into your accommodation and relax in preparation for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the following day.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The beauty of this rainforest is truly remarkable! The area features a dramatic, steeply forested landscape that is incredibly dense, yet crisscrossed by numerous animal trails that allow tourist access. The time spent and terrain encountered vary with the movements of these magnificent primates. Once a gorilla group is located, you will have the privilege of spending an hour in their presence. Observing these gentle and endangered giants is an exhilarating experience to be cherished.

Return to your lodge for lunch, and then check out for a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by lush, green-terraced hills reaching heights of 2,200 to 2,478 meters, but it is the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it truly magical — you could admire them all day.

Enjoy a Swim or the Spectacular View of the Bunyonyi Islands and Depart for Entebbe.

Lake Victoria - Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, then perhaps take a swim in the lake before embarking on the journey to Entebbe via Mbarara, stopping at Igongo Cultural Center for lunch featuring traditional dishes. You also have the option to visit the cultural museum here before continuing your drive to Kampala. You can make a stop at the Equator for more photos and explore the gift shops to purchase a souvenir as a memento of your gorilla and wildlife safari in Uganda.

Encounter the gorillas firsthand on your trekking expedition. With a strenuous day trekking, it would be ideal to find a better place for relaxation. That place will certainly be Lake Bunyonyi – a place of little birds. You will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi after the Gorilla Trekking. Enjoy a swim in the lake before a return to Entebbe
