White Water Rafting Adventure in Jinja
Source of the Nile - Speke Monument - After enjoying breakfast, you will be driven to Jinja for an exhilarating white water rafting adventure, which can be a full-day or half-day experience based on your preference.
This thrilling rafting journey spans up to 31 km and includes a delightful barbeque lunch and complimentary drinks after the adventure.
Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Following breakfast, you will travel west to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Fort Portal.
The journey, lasting approximately 8 hours, will take you through the picturesque Ugandan countryside, featuring small towns, villages, roadside markets, and lush landscapes.
A lunch stopover in Fort Portal town is planned before continuing to Queen Elizabeth N.P. The final stretch of the drive offers stunning views of the mystical Rwenzori mountain ranges.
You will arrive at Queen Elizabeth in time for an evening game drive, where you can observe animals such as elephants, hippos, and buffalos. Afterward, you will check in at the lodge and relax from the day’s adventures.
Wildlife Viewing & Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth N.P
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After breakfast, embark on an early morning wildlife safari game drive in the park. Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse ecosystem, including grassy plains, tropical forests, rivers, swamps, lakes, and volcanic craters, is home to an incredible variety of wildlife.
With the majestic Rwenzori Mountains as a backdrop, you will have excellent chances to see lions, leopards, giant forest hogs, cape buffalos, elephants, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kobs, Topi, and bushbuck.
After lunch, enjoy a 2-3 hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward, where you may encounter one of the highest concentrations of hippos. Many animals can be seen drinking at the water’s edge.
This boat cruise provides fantastic opportunities for photography, bird watching, and game viewing. The vibrant birdlife is remarkable, with over 600 different species.
Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - After breakfast, you will be driven from Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This 6-hour journey passes through the Kigezi Highlands, an area known as the “Switzerland of Africa.”
The route takes you through terraced hills and winding roads to the Bwindi forest, with a lunch stopover in Kabale.
Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Today is the highlight of the tour! Prepare for an encounter with the gentle giants, the rare mountain gorillas.
For many, this is the pinnacle of their journey. You will venture into the forest in groups of no more than 8 to search for mountain gorillas. Along the way, your guide will point out signs of gorilla activity, such as dung, nests, and chewed bamboo shoots.
Your trek will be an exciting journey through forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes, and bamboo. Upon locating the gorillas, you will spend up to 1 hour with them before returning to the starting point.
Return to Kampala
Uganda Equator - After an early breakfast, your driver/guide will take you from Bwindi to Kampala. This approximately 9-hour drive will transition from the cooler mountainous altitude of the Kigezi Highlands to the lower rolling landscape of Ankole and Buganda, featuring large farms and plantations interspersed with villages and small towns.
There will be several stopovers along the way, including the equator crossing in Kayabwe for photos.
You are expected to arrive in Kampala in the early evening, allowing time to freshen up before your departure flight from Uganda.
