Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary - Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, guests will be greeted by a Kent Safaris tour guide and transported to a pre-booked hotel in either Entebbe or Kampala for their first evening stay. Depending on their mood, guests can opt for a city tour if they arrive during the day or simply relax in preparation for the upcoming safari road trip. Destinations include Ngamba Island, home to the Orphanage Chimpanzee Sanctuary. If time permits, guests may also visit the Entebbe Wildlife Education Center and Entebbe Botanical Gardens. These visits can be arranged for either the arrival or departure day.
Transfer to Mgahinga National Park
Uganda Equator - After sunrise, a Kent Safaris driver/guide will be ready to brief and pick up guests from the hotel as the safari road trip begins, heading to Mgahinga National Park in the southwestern region of the country. There will be stopovers at Mpambire Royal Drum Makers and the Kayabwe Equator monuments for photos and refreshments.
Kisoro - Lunch will be enjoyed in Mbarara town. The journey continues with a scenic drive through Kisoro.
Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park - After sunrise, guests will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing by senior ranger guides from the Uganda Wildlife Authority, who will provide information on the dos and don’ts before assigning groups for trekking. The tour guide will lead guests into the jungle to search for the gentle gorillas. After locating them, guests will have one hour for interaction and photography before returning to the hotel.
Golden Monkey Trekking
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park - After sunrise, guests will head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the senior ranger guide. They can choose between a full-day Golden Monkey habituation experience or a half-day Golden Monkey trekking. Although the day is dedicated to a different activity, guests might unexpectedly encounter mountain gorillas, so they should be prepared with cameras to capture these spontaneous moments. Those opting for the “Golden Monkey Habituation Experience” will have ample time for research and study, while trekkers will have one day after tracking before returning to the hotel.
Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Kabale - Travel to Lake Bunyonyi, believed to be the deepest lake in Uganda, located in the Kabale district. The lake is an excellent spot for recreation and water bird watching. Return to Entebbe/Kampala
