Kampala → Lake Bunyonyi

Entebbe - Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport (EBB), a representative from Travel Giants will greet you and provide a briefing. This journey is a lengthy drive of about 7 hours, including a lunch stop along the way. Despite its length, the drive offers views of various landscapes such as tropical rainforests, savannah fields, and the terraced hills of Kigezi, often referred to as the Switzerland of East Africa. Once in Bwindi, guests will check in at the lodge and then visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience with these forest pygmies. The remainder of the day is free for leisure, in anticipation of the next day’s adventure.

Gorilla Trekking Experience

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Following an early breakfast, and with a picnic lunch in hand, guests will take a short drive to the park offices for a briefing. Here, they will meet knowledgeable local guides and trackers who will provide information on the etiquette of gorilla trekking. The trek begins in the forest at a location where gorillas were last seen, and tracking can take anywhere from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the gorilla family’s location and altitudes exceeding 7,500 feet.
6:00 AM: Breakfast and transfer to Bwindi
7:30 AM: Highlight: Gorilla trekking briefing
8:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Gorilla trekking (2-8 hours)
Afternoon: Return to the lake with a certificate
Evening: Relaxation and celebration dinner

Lake Exploration & Return

Entebbe - After breakfast, embark on the long drive back to Entebbe/Kampala, cherishing the memories of the magnificent mountain apes. The journey includes a lunch stop and a visit to the equator line for some experimentation, arriving late in the evening. Guests will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport at approximately 6 PM, so it is advisable to book an evening flight.
