Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - This day is dedicated to the magnificent mountain gorillas. The gorilla trekking experience in the hilly, forested landscapes of Bwindi is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that will create lasting memories. Participants gather at the park headquarters for a briefing at 8 am, where they are assigned specific gorilla families to track.
After the activity, the journey continues to Lake Bunyonyi, passing through the captivating Kigezi Highlands, where locals use terracing methods to cultivate their slopes, creating impressive scenic landscapes. Arrival at Lake Bunyonyi is in the afternoon, followed by an exciting boat ride to explore the “Lake of a Thousand Islands.” The views of the islands, the surrounding Kigezi Highlands, the birdlife on the lake, and the sights of local people with their canoes are magical and impressive to explore before settling in for dinner and overnight.
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After an early breakfast, guests will check out of their accommodation, carrying memories of the gorilla tracking experience, and set off for a Uganda wildlife safari to Queen Elizabeth. The journey includes passing through the tree-climbing lion sector of Ishasha en route to the chosen lodging in Ishasha or around the Mweya area of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Following a delightful lunch and some relaxation, an afternoon game drive will commence in search of the park’s mammals, including lions, leopards, elephants, hyenas, bush pigs, monkeys, warthogs, and various antelope species. After this activity, guests will return to their preferred lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.
Wildlife and Game Viewing at Queen Elizabeth
Queen Elizabeth National Park - In the morning, breakfast will be served at the lodge in Queen Elizabeth Park before embarking on a game drive. During the drive, wildlife returning from the night hunt can be observed, including lumbering elephants, lions, and running warthogs with their tails raised. Queen Elizabeth offers breathtaking views of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Afterward, guests will return to their accommodation for relaxation and lunch. It’s important to change camera batteries in preparation for a boat trip, which is a highlight for every visitor. The Kazinga Channel, shared by Lake Edward and Lake George, stretches 40 kilometers between the two lakes.
Kazinga Channel - In the afternoon, a boat ride or cruise will take place. The channel is home to many birds, seen during the cruise, along with schools of hippopotamus, buffaloes, and warthogs. The sight of pelicans on the shore, birds flying over the channel, and the leisurely pace of the boat provide ample opportunities for capturing Uganda wildlife pictures along the shores. The afternoon offers a rewarding game viewing experience.
Guests will return to their accommodation for dinner and a peaceful evening at the lodge amidst the African savannah.
