Bwindi Impenetrable

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - The drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest takes approximately 10-11 hours, including breaks. This journey takes you through various regions and districts of Uganda. You will have a brief stop at Uganda’s Equator monument, a well-known landmark. Continue with another stop at Mbarara Igongo Cultural Center and Country Hotel for a lunch break before heading to the southern area of Bwindi. The name Bwindi comes from the extensive stands of bamboo interspersed among larger forest hardwoods. The park is a sanctuary for colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, and many birds, and is notable for housing 400 Mountain Gorillas, half of the world’s population. Your accommodation is located on the border of the impenetrable forest and set on a steep slope. Imagine waking up to the sounds of the forest.

Mountain Gorilla Bwindi Southern Area

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Briefing at 07:30 am, with the trek to the gorillas taking between 2 to 8 hours. This activity is a once-in-a-lifetime journey. Head to the southern section of Bwindi - Rushaga area, where a ranger will lead you into the rainforest through tall, tangled shrubs and ancient trees. The terrain is rugged, steep, and the forest is misty and thick. After hiking some distance, depending on the location of the gorillas, you will spend up to 1 hour with them. Take a picnic lunch break before descending back to meet your driver-guide, who will transfer you back to the lodge to reflect on the day’s experience.

Bwindi - Kampala

Kampala - Today marks the end of the gorilla tour experience. After breakfast, embark on a journey back to Kampala, which will take close to 10 hours. Have lunch on the way and proceed to your accommodation in Kampala.

Kampala - Kisumu

Jinja - After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Busia border town with picnic lunch boxes. Go through immigration and customs before proceeding to Kisumu city for an overnight stay. The drive will take about 6 hours with a few stops along the way.

Lake Victoria - Drive to Kisumu city in Kenya, located near Lake Victoria, the largest freshwater lake in Africa.

Kisumu - Maasai Mara

Maasai Mara National Reserve - After breakfast, drive to the world-famous Maasai Mara, a journey of about 6 hours. The beautiful scenery of riverine vegetation, rolling plains, and open savannah is home to the highest concentration of animal species. Arrive for lunch at your camp, and then head out on an afternoon game drive at 16:00 hrs.

Maasai Mara

Maasai Mara National Reserve - Spend a full day in Maasai Mara with early morning and afternoon game drives. Explore the vast plains and riverine vegetation of the Mara in search of the abundant wildlife. There’s also an option to take a hot-air balloon safari or visit a Maasai village.

Maasai Mara - Nairobi

Longonot - Early morning game drive in Maasai Mara, then return to the camp for breakfast. Depart for Nairobi, stopping at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to see Mt. Longonot. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon and later transfer to the airport.
