White Water Rafting on the Nile in Jinja
Source of the Nile - Speke Monument - After breakfast, you will be driven to Jinja for an exhilarating white water rafting adventure, which can be a full-day or half-day experience, based on your preference.
This thrilling rafting journey covers up to 31 km and includes a delightful barbeque lunch and complimentary drinks after the adventure.
Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park - Your day will start with a picturesque drive to Murchison Falls National Park, located northwest of Jinja. The trip will take about 8 to 9 hours, with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino Tracking. After Ziwa, you will pause for lunch in Masindi Town.
Following lunch, you will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, with an opportunity to visit the ‘top of the falls’ to witness the Nile’s stunning beauty. Here, the Nile narrows from 50 meters to a 7-meter gorge, creating the waterfall that gives the park its name.
From this point, you will continue to your accommodation for an overnight stay.
Safari Game Drives in Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park - In the early morning, your guide will take you on a game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile, where you can spot Elephants, Lions, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyena, and possibly a leopard.
Return to your lodge for breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise upstream on the serene Victoria Nile to the base of the falls, stopping just meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron.” Marvel at the hippos, crocodiles, and various animals along this 19 km stretch, including elephants, waterbuck, and Uganda Kob.
You will also observe numerous bird species such as Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, Brown pelican, Red-throated bee-eater, various kingfishers, Fish eagles, cormorant, and the rare shoebill stork.
After the boat cruise, return to your accommodation.
Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale Forest National Park - After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale National Park, passing through Hoima and Fort Portal towns, with views of lush green landscapes, tea plantations, and traditional homesteads. Fort-Portal town is nestled in the shadows of the legendary Mountains of the Moon.
Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale National Park
Kibale Forest National Park - Following an early breakfast, your driver/guide will take you to the Kibale National Park office for a briefing on tracking chimpanzees in the wild.
Embark on a guided primate walk to find chimpanzees and 12 other primates, including l’ Hoestes, Red colobus, blue, red-tailed monkeys, brown monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabey.
Park rangers will provide detailed insights into the primates and all forest fauna and flora, ensuring an informative and enjoyable walk.
Upon locating the chimps, you will spend 1 hour with them before returning to the park offices.
Return to the lodge for lunch and refreshments.
After lunch, visit the community and take a walk in Bigodi Swamp, home to the great blue Turaco bird. The swamp hosts around 200 bird species and 8 primate species. Later, return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Visit Caves and Craters. Afternoon Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After breakfast, begin the day with a cultural tour of the Amabere ga nyina mwiru caves, a significant historic site located 10km from Fort Portal town.
An informed guide will accompany you, providing insights about the site. Remember to bring a flashlight, hiking boots, and long trousers for entering the caves. Afterwards, hike the explosion crater lakes in the area, then return to Fort Portal town for lunch and a visit to the Tooro Kingdom Palace.
In the evening, drive to Uganda’s second-largest park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying the changing views of the mystical Rwenzori Mountain ranges.
Wildlife Safari in Queen Elizabeth NP
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After breakfast, embark on an early morning wildlife safari game drive in the park. Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse ecosystem of grassy plains, tropical forests, rivers, swamps, lakes, and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife.
With the majestic Rwenzori Mountains as a backdrop, you will have excellent opportunities to see lions, leopards, giant forest hogs, cape buffalos, elephants, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kobs, Topi, and bushbuck.
After lunch, enjoy a 2-3 hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward, offering possibly the highest concentration of hippos. Many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge.
This launch cruise provides excellent opportunities for photography, bird watching, and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and impressive, with more than 600 different species.
Go to Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth N.P.
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After breakfast, head south to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Ishasha is renowned for its tree-climbing lions, which enjoy resting in the trees.
Your drive through the park will offer more wildlife viewing opportunities, and you will reach the lodge in time for lunch.
Later, embark on an evening game drive in search of the tree-climbing lions and other animals such as elephants, buffalos, antelopes, and more.
Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - After an early breakfast, depart Ishasha for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This 6-hour journey takes you through the Kigezi Highlands, known as the “Switzerland of Africa,” with terraced hills and winding roads leading to the Bwindi forest. A stop-over for lunch is included.
Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Today is the big day! Prepare for an encounter with the gentle giants, the rare mountain gorillas.
For many, this is the highlight of their tour. You will venture into the forest in groups of no more than 8 to search for mountain gorillas. Along the way, your guide will point out signs of gorilla activity, such as dung, nests, and chewed bamboo shoots.
Your trek will be an exciting journey through forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes, and bamboo. Upon finding the gorillas, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with them before being led back to the starting point.
Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale.
Lake Bunyonyi - After breakfast, depart Bwindi and head to Lake Bunyonyi. Located in the Kigezi region, Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Uganda, with over 20 small islands.
Here, you can enjoy swimming, dug-out canoeing, sunbathing, hill climbing, mountain biking, and cray fishing.
Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park - After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park. The journey takes approximately 5 hours, including a stopover in Mbarara for lunch.
Arrive at the park early enough to enjoy both a wildlife game drive and a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. You will see animals like Zebras, Elands, buffalos, and oribi, among others.
Birdwatchers will delight in over 250 bird species found in Lake Mburo, including Papyrus Gonolek, Brown-faced Lapwing, Carruthers Cisticola, the extraordinary White-winged Warbler, and Bare-Faced-Go-Away bird.
Wildlife Game Drive in Lake Mburo, Drive to Kampala
Lake Mburo National Park - After breakfast, embark on a wildlife safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park. An armed ranger will accompany you for safety. You may encounter a herd of zebras grazing peacefully alongside the long-horned Ankole cattle. Early risers might spot Lake Mburo’s hyenas in their cave.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then drive back to Kampala.
There will be a stopover at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers to witness the creation of ceremonial drums using traditional methods passed down through generations. There will also be time to stop at the equator for photographs.
Kampala City Tour
Kampala - After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Kampala.
Visit attractions such as the Uganda Museum, Craft Centre, Owino Market, Kibuli Mosque, Namirembe Cathedral, and other cultural sites like the Buganda Kingdom Palace (Bulange).
After the city tour, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
