Transfer To Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park - Start your day early with a drive from Kampala to Lake Mburo, known for its zebras. We’ll stop at the equator for photos and experiments before continuing past the town of Masaka. Upon reaching the park, you’ll drive through the large savannah dotted with acacia and shrubs, spotting topis, zebras, warthogs, impalas, and buffalo. You’ll then check in at the lodge.
Nature Walk And Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi - Begin your day with an early nature walk in the park to visit the hyenas’ den and see waterbucks, zebras, birds, and buffalo in their morning routines. After the walk, return to the lodge for breakfast before transferring to Lake Bunyonyi, a lake at 1800m above sea level known for its superb views and resident and exotic bird species. This area can be quite cool, with temperatures dropping below 10°C on some nights.
Relax at Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi - Enjoy a free day by the lake with options for swimming, canoeing, and visiting the islands. You can also hike the Bushara trail along the lake shores. In the afternoon, take a canoe ride to see the resident and exotic bird species. You can also interact with the locals or relax with performances by orphans.
Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After a relaxed breakfast, set off for Bwindi Forest, home to mountain gorillas. The drive takes you through beautiful cultivated hills and the neck of the impenetrable forest, reaching over 2650 meters above sea level. Have lunch along the way or at the lodge, depending on the time. Take a community walk in the village of Ruhija to see how the mountain people live and learn about the Batwa people’s forest life. Relax at the lodge in the evening, enjoying the mountain and forest views.
Gorilla trekking & transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After an early breakfast, head to the gorilla trekking starting point for an adventure to see the mountain gorillas. Trek with a specialized guide and spend an hour with these great giants. The forest is also home to birds, butterflies, plant species, forest hogs, forest elephants, statungas, and duikers. After the trek, your guide will take you to the lodge near Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive takes you from forest-covered mountains to cultivated hills, villages, and the savanna of Ishasha. Although there’s no game drive today, you might spot elephants, antelopes, and possibly a lion or leopard. Arrive at the lodge for a relaxed evening.
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Enjoy a mini game drive through the park as you proceed to the lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Game drive & a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Start your day with a morning game drive to see the big five animals, including elephants, big cats, lions, and leopards, as well as warthogs, hyenas, waterbucks, and many more. The park is also rich in bird species, especially along the Kazinga Channel. At 3 pm, take a boat cruise on the 36 km Kazinga Channel, linking Lake George and Lake Edward. Spot water and land hippos, Nile crocodiles, birds, and African water elephants.
Chimpanzee trekking & Village walk
Kyambura Game Reserve (Kyambura Gorge) - After breakfast, transfer to Kyambura Forest for chimp trekking. This tropical rainforest is home to over 80 habituated chimps and beautiful birds. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax in the afternoon. You can also take a village walk and enjoy the nearby Crater Lakes.
Transfer to Kibale National Park
Kibale National Park - Drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park to the crater lakes area. Pass by local markets and drive through the crater areas. Check in at the lodge and take a walk to enjoy beautiful views of the crater lake and see primates like black and white colobus, red colobus, red-tailed monkeys, colorful butterflies, and birds.
Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Wetland Visit
Kibale National Park - At 8:00 am, assemble at Kanyankyu River Camp for chimpanzee tracking, the park’s most popular activity. Besides chimpanzees, you may see black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red-tailed monkeys, bush babies, pottos, and many bird species. In the afternoon, visit a nearby forest swamp excellent for viewing primates and other forest animals. At the eastern edge of Kibale Forest is Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, maintained by the local community. Expect to see birds like the great blue turaco, blue monkeys, baboons, otters, mongoose, bushbucks, and bush pigs.
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park - After breakfast, start the long drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Have lunch along the way and check in at your lodge upon arrival to relax after the journey. There will be numerous stops for photography and stretching.
Morning game drive & Boat Cruise on the source of the Nile
Murchison Falls National Park - After breakfast, head to the park for a game drive to see lions, giraffes, herds of elephants, buffaloes, and more. Return to the lodge for lunch before taking an afternoon boat cruise to the foot of Murchison Falls. This boat trip along the Nile is often a highlight, allowing you to get close to the animals. Along the river, you’ll see around 4,000 hippos, enormous Nile crocodiles, and stunning birdlife, including brightly colored kingfishers and bee-eaters. You might even spot the rare shoebill. The boat takes you to the base of the falls, adding to their impressiveness.
Morning game drive & transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch - Take a morning game drive to explore the savanna for big cats, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and more. Continue to the Delta point for a mix of birds and mammals. After the game drive, leave the park and head to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where efforts are underway to reintroduce rhinos to Uganda. Trek the rhinos in the evening or early the next morning, depending on the time and rhino locations.
Transfer To Jinja And Visit The Source Of The Nile
Source of the Nile - Speke Monument - Leave Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and head to Jinja. Have lunch along the way and visit the source of the Nile upon arrival. Relax for the evening along the Nile. During the transfer, you’ll also see the thick Mabira Forest, one of East Africa’s remaining tropical rainforests.
Transfer back to Entebbe
Mabira Forest - After breakfast, transfer back to Entebbe, marking the end of your safari. Have lunch along the way, and your guide will drop you off at the airport or your hotel in Entebbe.
