A walk in history. - Visited the site in October. We travelled by train from Sorrento. It was a short walk from the station to the entrance of the park. On the way down there are a few small shops you can but water etc and there are a few places you can have lunch in too. This site is a lot smaller than Pompeii so it is an easy half day visit. Quite a few of the houses were closed off when we were there but there was still plenty to see. This is an active dig site so this is to be expected. The facilities are good. There is a shop with a good choice of gifts ranging from jewellery, books, t-shirts etc. there is also a cafe area with vending machines and a seating area. Toilets were close by. Well worth a visit and your entrance fee helps not only to protect the site but helps to discover even more wonders from the ancient world.
