• College of the Augustales - This building is believed to have been a center for the cult of Emperor Augustus and the headquarters of the Collegium Augustalium, or possibly even the local curia.
• Central Thermae - The “thermae” were the public baths of the city. Private baths were relatively rare and limited to the wealthiest families, as they were the only ones who could afford to construct rooms for this purpose. The thermal bath facilities were divided into two sections: one for women and one for men. Each section contained a series of rooms with different functions: changing room, cold bath room, tepid bath room, and hot bath room, all remarkably preserved over the years.
• Salone della Barca di Ercolano - Following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, many residents fled to the beach in a bid to save their lives. Men attempted to shield women and children, but the volcano’s fury was relentless, and the waves, sand, and lava obliterated the small port and beach. A wooden boat, recovered from the ancient beach, was coated with a resinous material that preserved it perfectly, and in 1982 it was restored and repositioned for travelers to admire.
• Partem Domus Lignea - Casa del Tramezzo di Legno - The Partem Domus Lignea is named after a folding wooden door found here, which was used to separate the atrium from the tablinium (the owner’s study). In front of the façade, visitors can still see the benches where clients waited to be received by the host.
