Hidden Barrel Tours provides an exceptional opportunity to explore the local brewery scene in San Diego’s North County. Guests will enjoy a 4.5-hour chauffeured journey in a 1982 custom VW Vanagon, visiting three of the area’s top-rated breweries. The tour package includes one tasting or a 16oz beer per person at one brewery, usually selected by the driver, with snacks and water available throughout the trip.

Wine and Drive - Sitting at a table in the rear of a vintage VW “vanagon’ while drinking Prosecco and cruising down the roads of Southern California was nothing short of epic. Add in an awesome playlist and feel free to feel jealous. It was that good! Your host will drive you to three different wineries where you can purchase wine by the glass, flight, or bottle. At our second stop, our host served us each an individual charcuterie board featuring treats by Stone Brewery. We sat near a warm fire; eating, drinking, and being merry. Miguel was the perfect host and I highly recommend this tour if you are lucky enough to visit this lovely area.

SUPER FUN DAY! - WOW! What a fun day! Seriously, I cannot stress this enough... WHAT A FUN DAY! Sean is a great host and he scheduled a full day of brewery visits - most of them we had never been to. The van is clean and he had it stocked with water and chips for us. We brought our own beer and snacks so we ate and drank all day even when we were on the road. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Best day we had on our San Diego trip!! - What an amazing day!!! Hubby and I hail from Washington state in the heart of Hop country and Hidden Barrel Tours did NOT disappoint!! From Sean helping arrange our pick-up as we were staying in San Diego, to the awesome music he played in the VW Van -- the day and the beers were a hit!! We hit 3 breweries and all were amazing. Hubby commented how good the beers were, and while I'm usually a wine girl, the flavored beers were amazing as well (Wild Barrel has a white-wine and a red-wine lover option and they were both great). Jacked Up Brewery has amazing owners as well (trust me, we enjoyed everywhere we went) -- but got the tour and great conversation by the owners (she makes beer that tastes like a raspberry wine spritzer AND they make their own seltzer!) Again, Sean was a gem -- ended up just being my hubby and myself and he was an absolutely amazing tour guide! We plan on coming back and look forward to trying the wine tour, the wine & beer combined tour, and I think I saw something about a (dive) bar tour as well! My pleasure to recommend this company to anybody looking for an experience and an awesome day! (AND did I mention the yellow VW Van!!!) (I was able to upload a couple of photos but having issues with phone -- hopefully Tripadvisor might let me upload more once I iron the problem out!j)

Our driver never showed. We called, number was disconnected. Texted the operator with no response. We canceled. - Our driver never showed. Never responded to texts. Phone number disconnected. We canceled after waiting an hour. Very disappointed!

Nobody over the age of 60 is allowed? - It really does surprise me that this is only good for 60 years old and younger. Isn’t that discriminating? Many of my friends are over 60 years old, but we’ve never been told we weren’t allowed to do some thing. That’s just unbelievable.
