Whale Watching Tour:
Imagine having a luxurious yacht and a skilled crew all to yourself. Picture enjoying a glass of sparkling wine while observing whales and dolphins. This exclusive experience offers a more personal and luxurious setting, perfect for you and your loved ones!
Our yachts, Gringo and Miranda, are docked at the port of Calheta. We set sail to encounter the local cetacean species, with the assistance of an on-land spotter and a professional crew of two. From this point, endless possibilities await you!
Depending on the weather, you can choose to sail along the coast, swim in the ocean with the goggles and fins provided on board, or simply sunbathe and unwind with a refreshing drink. Alternatively, experience the enchanting Sunset from a prime location by opting for an evening private cruise and discover the ocean in a unique way!
We can host up to 5 guests for private charters on Miranda and up to 12 guests for private charters on Gringo.

- Wildlife spotting cannot be guaranteed
- Pregnant women should seek medical advice before booking (limited to no medical assistance can be performed on-board)
- The yacht is not accessible to wheelchairs, strollers or cribs.
- This activity is not suited to guests over 110 kg / 242 pounds, unless prior arrangement is made with our team and a suitable alternative has been proposed and acknowledged by our Captain / Crew.
- 6/6.30 pm or 7/7.30 pm departure time: Sunset, Snorkeling and Sparkling wine, NO whale watching
- Guests should understand their duty to exercise reasonable care for their own safety while boarding, exiting and being on-board the yacht.

This is sincerely making memories! What a beautiful experience - We are experienced trotters, and sea and boating have few surprises for us, or so we thought before we set foot on the Gringo. I don't even know where to start, but at the beginning.
Reception, friendly, human, competent, but above all very sweet and kind. A beautiful boat with a fantastic Captain and second mate.
Sailing, within five minutes ten of the most beautiful mammals in the sea, the dolphin, spotted by a spotter on land. In one word, fantastic!! We could almost touch them. Then a very nice tour along the terrible beautiful coast of madeira, there the second mate (former top table tennis player) developed into a true storyteller, breathless we hung on his lips, you want this as a guest! And yes we were, we were really guests!
I highly recommend this cruise, worth the money.
Docking, we got another memento and we were left with very nice memories.
Dear people, thank you for this, we have become a bit more wise and world wise again.

Family Zodiac Tour in Madeira - We had a great time with family with On Tales. We had the zodiac, dynamic and very fun with children (over 6 years old), we had the chance to see dolphins (and even quickly a whale), and the beautiful landscapes of the island around Calheta. The team is friendly and caring. I recommend!

Sperm whales!! An outstanding trip - We had an excellent experience with On Tales.
I was probably their most annoying customer of the year, asking a million questions about the trip before finally booking, but Mayung was super patient and answered everything clearly and in detail - in fact communication throughout was impeccable.
On the day of our excursion everything was ready for us as expected, the Miranda boat was comfortable and well equipped, and Rodolfo and Bruno on board were friendly and knowledgeable, answering all our questions about the island and its sealife. Most importantly though, they found us a pod of Sperm Whales! A mother, children and a huge male, we even got the iconic “fin in the air” shot when she dived. A very lucky and rare sighting, and made the trip worthwhile and then some. Rodolfo even gave us a great recommendation for a drink in the evening (Groovy bar - live music)
Overall a highly recommended company and trip

Terrific - Luka and crew were gracious and well informed on both the island and the sea creatures, knowing exactly where to go for us to thrill at close views of a a pod of whales. It was an enjoyable afternoon

Great sightings on private tour - We made great sightings (pilot whales, bottlenose dolphins and a hammerhead shark). Animals have been treated with respect (all laws/rules considered). The spotter on land spotted the pilot whales and directed us there. The crew took our wishes into account and searched with us instead of going for a swim. She still led us to the bottlenose dolphins and the hammerhead shark. There was brief information about the animals. Pictures of the crew were made available very quickly. Speedboating was fun.
Clear recommendation, especially if you want a private tour!

Recommended on all fronts !!! - Particularly nice contact before the trip, during reception, the boat tour and afterwards.
So kind, thoughtful. Beautiful boat and nice people from ontale who accompanied us on our trip. Lots of sightings, dolphins small, big, flying fish. They also took the time to fish waste from the ocean. Amazing!!! They also take pictures and forwarded to us the same day. Fantastic experience.

Exceptional experience!!! - It was a truly exceptional experience! Luca and Chiara were amazing! We learned so much about the island and the marine wildlife and the best part is that we saw incredibly rare whales and it was such a highlight of our honeymoon! I highly recommend!!

A perfect private boat hire with a company committed to quality - We had a couples private trip in Miranda. Smaller boat but with good view from seats and cabin with all mod cons. Skipper Rudolph and hostess Beatrice were perfect- informative, cheerful and attentive. Rudolph found us dolphins which was exciting. But the trip would have been worth the money even if none found. Swimming of boat lovely end to trip. Icing on cake…free photos taken throughout the trip. Highly recommend this company
