Metehara - Stop for lunch in Metehara town, then continue the journey to Awash National Park, pausing at the saline Lake Beseka. This lake is set in a distinctive landscape surrounded by black basalt lava remnants and is notably expanding in size and water volume.

Awash National Park - Take a one-hour walk around Awash Falls Lodge in Awash National Park to admire the stunning Awash River Falls and observe crocodiles, baboons, and various lowland water birds.

Game Drive in Awash National Park and Return to Addis Ababa

Awash National Park Entrance - After breakfast, embark on a game drive in Awash National Park to spot Beisa Oryx, Warthogs, Soemmerring’s Gazelle, Salt’s Dik-Diks, lesser Kudus, and possibly crocodiles in the Awash River. Among the over 400 bird species in the park, six are endemic to Ethiopia, including the Barbed Barbet, Golden Backed Woodpecker, White Winged Cliff Chat, White Tailed Starling, Thick Billed Raven, and Wattled Ibis. Proceed to a viewpoint for spectacular views of the Awash River Gorge. The Awash River flows approximately 1,200 km exclusively within Ethiopia, without reaching the sea.
