Simien Mountains National Park - The tour departs from Gondar at 8:00 am, reaching the Simien Mountains National Park by approximately 11:00 am.
Upon arrival at the park, the vehicle will drop the group off two hours before reaching the first campsite at Sankaber. Enjoy a two-hour hike along the cliff edge towards the Sankaber campsite. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed along the way. That evening, camp in tents at Sankaber.
SANKABER / GEECH
Simien Mountains National Park - The trek from Sankaber to Geech camp takes about 5 to 6 hours, offering breathtaking views as the path winds between cliff edges and forests. Along the journey, pass the impressive 500m high Jinbar waterfall and pause for lunch by the Jinbar river. Visit Geech village, where there is an opportunity to enjoy coffee with a local family in their traditional tukul hut, providing a wonderful insight into the daily life of the mountain community.
GEECH / CHENNEK
Simien Mountains National Park - The journey from Geech to Chennek camp takes approximately 7 to 8 hours. Along the way, visit Imet Gogo, which provides a stunning panoramic view of the entire Simien mountain range. At 3926m, Imet Gogo offers unparalleled 360-degree views of endless canyons, cliffs, and valleys.
CHENNEK / SONA
Simien Mountains National Park - From Chennek, trek to Sona via Buwhit pass (4200m). This is a great chance to spot the magnificent walia ibex and the rare, endemic Simien fox. Enjoy the beautiful views along the way before descending to Sona, famous for its spectacular sunsets.
SONA / MEKAREBYA
Simien Mountains National Park - From Sona, hike to Mekarebya. This trek takes around 5 hours and is mostly downhill. As the descent progresses, notice the increase in temperature and the change in vegetation compared to the highlands.
MEKAREBYA / MULIT
Simien Mountains National Park - From Mekarebya, hike for 5 to 6 hours to Mulit. This engaging hike offers the chance to see vervet monkeys. Cross the Insya river a few times before a final steep ascent to the campsite.
MULIT / ADIARKAY / GONDAR
Simien Mountains National Park - From Mulit, travel mostly downhill for 2.5 hours to Adiarkay. Upon reaching the main road, begin the drive back to Gondar.
