Zagori Villages

Skalopatia Vradeto - A wonderful route for visitors. The road leading to the village of Vradeto was built in 1970, and prior to that, residents used the Vradeto steps daily.

Kokkori Bridge - Constructed between the 18th and 19th centuries.

Σαρακατσάνικη Στάνη - Situated in a forested area of about 20,000 square meters with fir and pine trees, this complex of traditional houses aims to recreate the Sarakatsani lifestyle.

Konitsa Villages

Konitsa Bridge - A stunning traditional stone bridge with impressive architecture.

Kleidonia - Features a stone bridge, a magnificent river, a large plane tree, cold water, and fresh air.

Papigko - Located on the western slopes of the Astraka peak of Mount Tymfi, above the Vikos Gorge exit, in the northern part of the Ioannina regional unit. It is a masterpiece of architecture with its white stone structures.

Moni Panagias Stomiou - This area is part of the European network of protected areas, NATURA 2000. The Stomio Monastery was originally built in 1594 on the opposite side of the river and was relocated to its current site in 1774. The renowned monk Paisios resided there and was its primary renovator. On the return journey, visitors can enjoy a swim in the Aoos River.

Typically, the region characterized by numerous rivers and streams, particularly in the winter season, necessitated the building of bridges. The prosperous period of Zagori enabled wealthy families to fund costly and occasionally unsuccessful ventures to connect villages. Presently, approximately 60 bridges are preserved in an extensively good condition, and there are records of an additional hundred that have been demolished.
