The first highlight of the day is a 463-meter-high mountain located on the north coast of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, near the town of Grundarfjörður. The name Kirkjufell translates to “Church Mountain,” as it is thought to resemble a church.
- Djupalonssandur Beach - The next highlight is a sandy beach and bay at the base of the Snæfellsjökull glacier in Iceland. The guide will share fascinating stories about the fishing village and the shipwrecks that rest on the beach.
- Budakirkja - Moving to the east side, there will be a stop at Búðakirkja, a 19th-century church. Originally built in 1703, the church was dismantled and rebuilt in 1987 due to a lack of attendees. In recent years, this minimalist structure, surrounded by mountains and Iceland’s rugged nature, has become a popular subject for photographers, so be sure to capture some photos for your collection!
- Arnarstapi - The next destination is the quaint fishing village of Arnarstapi. Enjoy a walk along the picturesque coastline and take the opportunity to visit Miðgjá stone bridge, a natural rock arch off the coast.

Interesting tour of Northern Iceland! - Relaxing and interesting trip with Magga!!

A beautiful tour with breathtaking views - This was a beautiful tour and our guide, Guna, was the best, sharing not only details about the places we visited, but also about Iceland's history, culture and life at large. It was a highly informative trip, and driving around this amazing landscape with Snæfellsjökull dominating the backdrop, is in itself a wonderful experience.

Wonderful tour - This tour was absolutely worth it. Very beautiful and unique views of coastlines, lava fields and charming Icelandic villages.

Unforgettable day - It was definitely worth going with the small group on a tour to SNAEFELLSNES & KIRKJUFELL during my short stay in Reykjavik in May 26, 2025. Although the stops were short due to distance we had to cover in one day, they were packed with beautiful views and unforgettable impressions. Thanks to our guide and driver for his patience and punctuality.

Beautiful tour - We did this tour as part of the 3 Day - Iceland Bucket List Tour. This was our first full day in Iceland and all of the spots exceeded our expectations. The landscape was beautiful all throughout the tour but specially the Church Mountain and the black sand beach. We also got to see some seals, and even a whale fin in the background of one of our pictures! Our guide Slavi was very friendly, gave lots of information and made tour fun.

Not the best - Did this trip as part of the 3 day bucket list tour package and this was the first day. The tour felt extremely rushed as straight from the get-go we were behind schedule due to pick ups taking over an hour! This was very frustrating as everyone has spent lots of money on this tour and none of us were to blame for this, so minus points to the company for organisational skills. The tour itself also wasn't too fascinating. Lot's of churches and open fields, if I was to recommend Iceland to someone new I'd definitely say to skip this day. Our tour guide also wasn't the best. I understand that part of their job is to talk about the area and history, however nearly 12 hours of non stop talking through the microphone gets very frustrating.
