The distance from Cairo to Fayoum is approximately 95 km. The day’s itinerary includes exploring Wadi El Rayan, which has been a Protected Area since 1989. The tour will commence with a visit to the Wadi Hitan Protected Area, also known as the Valley of the Whales, situated about 90 km from Fayoum. This site, located within the Wadi El Rayan Protected Area, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to the discovery of 40-million-year-old whale skeletons. En route to the Wadi El Rayan Waterfalls, there will be a stop at Mudawara Mountain. Following this, the tour will proceed to the Wadi El Rayan Waterfalls. Wadi El Rayan is a natural depression in the western desert, lying 42 meters below sea level. It comprises two lakes linked by Egypt’s only waterfalls, which were formed in 1970 due to the overflow of drainage water from Fayoum’s farmlands.
