• Wadi El-Rayan - A company representative will collect guests from their hotel in Cairo to explore the renowned sites of El Fayoum. The distance from Cairo to Fayoum is approximately 95 km. The day’s excursions are centered around Wadi El Rayan, which was declared a Protected Area in 1989. The tour begins with a visit to the Wadi Hitan Protected Area (Valley of the Whales), located about 90 km from Fayoum. Wadi Hitan, or Valley of the Whales, is situated within the Wadi El Rayan Protected Area and was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site due to the discovery of 40-million-year-old whale skeletons. En route to the Wadi El Rayan Waterfalls, guests will visit Mudawara Mountain, followed by the Wadi Al Rayan Waterfalls. Wadi El Rayan is a natural depression in the western desert, 42 meters below sea level, and consists of two lakes connected by Egypt’s only waterfalls, created in 1970 by the overflow of drainage water from Fayoum’s farmlands.
• Qasr Qarun and Medinet Quta - Following this, guests will enjoy Medinet Madi (Ancient City Uncovered), which dates back to the third pharaonic dynasty, constructed by Amenemhet III and completed by Amenemhet IV. A late lunch will be served at a high-quality restaurant, after which guests will be transferred back to Cairo.
