Faiyum Oasis - Depart from Cairo at 7:00 am via Bahariya road. Travel south, passing by the salty Qarun Lake until reaching the Fayoum Oasis protected area gate. Here, switch from the mini-van to a 4X4 Toyota Land Cruiser and drive to the Whales Valley to see fossilized skeletons. Explore the stunning landscape of the Wadi, featuring remarkable rock formations and incredible fossilized skeletons of 40 million-year-old whales and other marine creatures. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the serene surroundings on foot for an hour and a half, with lunch at the Valley. Afterwards, visit the Geological Museum. Then, drive to Qsour el-Arab for a BBQ dinner and overnight desert camping.
