Great Excursion! - We had a great night time kayak tour through the mangroves. The bioluminescent bay was not as sparkly as we expected but our guides were very knowledgeable and personable. It was a very fun experience that I would highly recommend.

Bioluminescent Bay Kayak tour - Grab a pouch for your phone! You will get wet. Great Sunset photos. Guides were fabulous. Felt very safe in the Mangrove forest after dark. The Bioluminescent was great.

We loved it. It was fun,... - We loved it. It was fun, beautiful, mysterious and very informative. The guides were extremely nice. And Chis gave a wonderful talk about the creatures that glow and the stars. Highly recommended.

A perfect evening! Magical - ignore the negative reviews! - This was a magical evening for our family (2 adults and 2 teens). We read the other more recent reviews with concern - actually, so much concern that we even considered not coming! - but it was nothing like the negative reviews described. Yes, the kayaks are wet docked, so prepare to walk out to them in the dark. There were quite a few flashlights to help. Kayaking was delightful with a very gentle current, the sky filled with stars, and the mangroves cresting a tunnel. There was never complete darkness - there was always a light to follow.
The bioluminescence wasn’t as bright as it might be at Mosquito Bay, but it was thrilling for our whole family just the same. We didn’t need tarps, as there wasn’t much moonlight.
Overall, 10/10 - we wanted to submit this to thank the guides and set the record straight. It was a truly magical evening for us all!

Bio Bay - Potential Disappointment - It is important to know that you must have perfect conditions (dark sky, no moonlight) to see the bio glow like you see on their website. Our guides did their best to create a “dark sky” for us by draping a tarp over our heads / kayaks. We still enjoyed the kayaking through the mangroves.

Only the moon was luminescent (take kayak trip alone) - Frankly disappointed, I won't advise! Choose instead the kayak trip only, it will be just as well for 3x cheaper!
Yes it was the disappointment because it was just a kayak trip: arrived for sunset the break time was on the wrong side (the monitor had the right view, we were all strapped in front of him) so advice take pictures of the beautiful sunset when you paddle, do not wait to be strapped...
We didn’t see anything luminescent (a third of the moon had to do it) but that’s the risk we understand. We could have waited a little longer because...
...the activity lasted only 1h30 and not 2h... When I say 1h30 it is once their snack is collected and goodbye said (1 mini packet of chips + 1 bottle of water per person)
Honestly it’s very expensive the outing even if the staff was very welcoming (you surprise me given the price per person)

A Disappointing Experience - This tour was a disappointment. Our tour guides were not very engaging or knowledgable. The only way to see the bioluminescence was to have a tarp draped over you and to stir the water around with your hands. You could barely see any. I do not recommend this tour- if you really want to see them, chose a different tour on the island. Or better yet, go to Mosquito Bay were they are see much better.

CONSIDER THIS YOUR WARNING - DISREGARD ANY GOOD REVIEW - I genuinely do not understand how anyone has had a good, or safe, experience on this tour. Upon arrival, we smelled the wretched Lagoon water before we even pulled into the parking lot. Little did we know, we would be sitting in a small puddle of this wretched sludge in the seat of our kayak throughout the entire tour. (Ladies, bring a change of bottoms). The kayak experience was incredibly arduous and dangerous, taking place in the pitch darkness, through narrow mangrove tunnels, and little to no guidance. (A suggestion for future tours would be to give a flashlight to each kayak! It was very hard to navigate and see the way in the darkness.) Many crashes took place along the way. I deeply feared for my safety, and the safety of others. It was clear the rest of the group felt that way as well, due to the screaming.
As we made our way into the middle of the lagoon, we were not able to see any bioluminescence. It was incredibly underwhelming, and we felt like we had struggled to get there for nothing. The stars were beautiful to look at, I must say! That was the highlight.
The guides were very, very nice, and informative, and I do not want to blame them. I think they did a great job with what they had, I just think the overall experience was not a safe one. When we got to our final destination, we were lined up kayak to kayak and given a very large, disgusting, putrid, possibly moldy tarp to drape over everyone. We were told to put our arms into the water, swish it around, and look for traces of bioluminescence on our hands. I felt like someone was playing a sick joke on us. We all just looked at each other in confusion, disappointment, and complete, utter shock. Because what the hell was that? No bioluminescence. And, where were we supposed to dip our hands when we were shoved kayak to kayak? It was brutal and senseless. After we couldn't see the bioluminescence, the guides let us paddle around freely for a short bit of time without any directions on how to return to them, and after a short while of being left to our own devices, many people in the group, my friend and I included, began to panic because we did not know where our guides were or how to return to them or when we could expect to head back. We even called out their names to try to find them, and didn't receive a response. It was very scary. On the way back, there were tarpon splashing in the pitch black darkness, and kayakers were visibly panicked. The kayak back felt long and challenging, and defeating.
Overall, I would not recommend this experience. Unless you find it pleasurable to endure trials and tribulations while feeling mildly humiliated and slightly insane. It felt more like a social experiment than an experience. I can not believe I paid for this. It was not a laid back, enjoyable experience. It felt really unsafe and scary and difficult, with seemingly no reward.
