Andy Scott’s design was inspired by two Clydesdale horses, Duke and Baron. In the past decade, The Kelpies have attracted over 7 million visitors. This engineering marvel replaced nine locks on the Union Canal, significantly reducing travel time to Edinburgh by half a day. The Falkirk Wheel uniquely transfers boats between the Forth and Clyde Canal and the Union Canal. Boat trips over the Falkirk Wheel are offered from April to November (not included in the tour price).
