Great relaxing, peaceful two hour trip on an electric boat - Excellent, gentle cruise around Ria Formosa with a very friendly, knowledgeable guide who spoke super English and had a great sense of humour (Luis). It was high tide so didn't see waders, but the osprey, peregrine falcon and kingfisher among others made up for that and we could get the boat close to birds.

This electric boat is the way to do a bird-watching trip - This was a wonderful trip. Luis was knowledgeable and helpful, and we saw many species. Earlier in my trip, I had taken the birdwatching tour on a regular boat offered by Estrella. The one offered by Lands was so much better, and the solar-powered electric boat made all the difference! We could proceed with no motor noise, we got closer to the islands going through the channels, and we saw many more species of birds (Luis counted 25). Very relaxing, an opportunity to spy on nature from pretty close up. If you want a bird-watching boat trip, this electric boat is the way to go!

My first day in Faro was birdwatching on the Formosa River. - My first day in Faro was birdwatching on the Formosa River. The tour was almost on time, but two people arrived 10 minutes late. We set off. Manuel, the guide and captain, gave us life jackets and binoculars. Manuel explained and showed us the birds, sailing slowly and aiming for the birds we saw on our sails. It was incredible. It's a highly recommended tour.

Excellent activity - Very pleasant tour, the boat is quiet, comfortable and in the shade. The guide is very friendly and knows the names of birds in French. The tour includes a 20 min stop on a beach. The birds were there even outside the migration period (osprey, reed harrier, Audouin gull, flamingo, white spatula, terns, and lots of shorebirds). However, do not expect to see the talève sultane according to the guide. If you decide to do this activity, look at the sea: at low tide, there are many birds but the guide cannot approach the boat; at high tide they gather in the salt flats that can be seen from the boat. According to the guide, the best times are at low tide or at medium and high tide.

Lovely trip. - Really lovely experience and managed to see 15+ types of birds. I would love to come back in September/ October for the salt season for the flamingos.

Quiet boat tour - Fun to do with the whole family. Quiet boat tour and a great guide. You stop at the beach to enjoy the beautiful view. We haven't seen that many birds. Actually, winter is a much better time for that. But glad we did this.
