- Hagia Sophia Mosque - Originally constructed as a Greek Orthodox cathedral in 360 AD, it remained so until the Ottoman Empire’s conquest of Constantinople in 1453. It functioned as a mosque until 1935, then became a museum, and in 2020, it was reconverted into a mosque.
For those visiting, expect a waiting time of around 45 minutes at the entrance gate. There is no priority pass available for official guides.
- Blue Mosque - Also known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, it is renowned for its six minarets and distinctive tiles.
- Hippodrome - During the Byzantine era, the Hippodrome of Constantinople was the hub of the city’s social, political, and sporting activities. Visitors can see the Obelisk of Thutmose III, the Walled Obelisk, the German Fountain, and remnants of the original hippodrome.
- Basilica Cistern - Constructed in the 6th century under Byzantine Emperor Justinian, this underground cistern was named Basilica due to its location beneath the Stoa Basilica public square on Constantinople’s First Hill. It measures approximately 138 meters (453 ft) by 65 meters (213 ft), covering about 9,800 square meters (105,000 sq ft), and can hold 80,000 cubic meters (2,800,000 cu ft) of water. It features 336 marble columns, each 9 meters (30 ft) high. During the tour, visitors will see marble blocks carved with Medusa’s face and the teardrop column.
- Kapali Carsi - The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is one of the world’s largest and oldest covered markets, featuring 61 covered streets and over 4,000 shops across a total area of 30,700 m2, drawing between 250,000 and 400,000 visitors daily. Your perfect way to make a day in Instanbul really count. - Taner got recommended to us by an old Turkish friend - and what a perfect match to our limited time in Istanbul his guidance was. I have to admit that I have not been walking as much at a time for years - but every single step was worth it. Taner has really taken us onto a journey, through the City, through its history up to its present - and at the same time a journey through Turkish thinking. He knows the City so well, that he was able to adapt the tour at any time "on the fly" - and he also knows the world well enough, to be able to look at his City and its people out of more than only one perspective. And yes, as promised, he also got us around the longest queues - but above all he has built up a long series of lasting impressions. Thanks a lot!

Don’t miss out on Turkey with Taner! - Taner gave us the best day of our vacation by far! He was so friendly and welcoming. From pickup right off the boat to our safe and easy return, we had the best time we could have imagined on our tour. We spent two days in Istanbul and exploring alone couldn’t hold a candle to the tour you get with Taner. He shows you the most incredible places you would never know to look for without him. He explains what you’re seeing and the history behind it. He made it all easy to understand, engaging and lots of fun. Turkey is beautiful and a tour with Taner gives you an interactive experience you’ll never forget!

Great tour, excellent customer care - To say that we enjoyed the tour would be to say nothing. Taner went above and beyond ensuring the we have the best time in Istanbul and spend those few hours in the city most efficiently. The pickup at the cruise ship terminal was flawless. Taner gave us a lot of useful information about the city and the sites. He also helped us find a replacement for the charger that stayed in our lost luggage (which was not an easy task given the short amount of time we had of that). Rate 5+ stars. Highly recommend
