Best meal we had in Morocco! - We loved this cooking class! Our host Imad picked up up from our Riad and took us to the souks where we helped choose the ingredients for our dishes. We were surprised but very happy that the class was actually in his home kitchen rather than a restaurant. Our “chef” was actually his mother!. She was very sweet and and treated us like family and let us help make the meal. It was the best meal we had in our two weeks in Morocco. We can highly recommend this true immersive experience.

Amazing experience - cooking class in Fes - I recently visit Morocco with my friends, beautiful country with beautiful people!
While we were in Fes we decided to join a cooking class where you go to the house of a local home chef. What an amazing experience!
First the son Yahya of the home chef Samia picked us up at our hotel. We then walked with him through the souk to shop/buy vegetables, spices, herbs and meat that we would use at the cooking class. We then headed to their home where the home chef was waiting for us. I am a vegetarian (and eggs), and my friends eat meat. Samia had planned an extensive menu with our feedback. She then went on to guide us, teach us and finally feed us the food we all cooked together. The menu was 2 Moroccan salads, baba ganoush, chicken tajine, couscous with vegetables, meatballs and egg tajine. What a spread and an incredible experience being welcomed and cooking in their home. Thank you. I highly recommend them and a great experience!

Fabulous insight to home cooking in Morocco - We had a fascinating time with Yahya and his mother - she is a great cook and the food was plentiful and delicious! We went to the market stalls with Yahya to get all the ingredients, then back to his home where we were made very welcome, and served tea and homemade pastries.
We had chosen what tagines to make for the main course - chicken with olives & lemon, and beef with prunes. We helped where we could to prepare the dishes (3 different starters, 2 tagine dishes and a fruit salad dessert). Mostly chopping the vegetables and adding the spices.
It was also interesting to learn all about Moroccan life in the medina and aspects of Islam - it was the last day of Ramadan and everyone was getting ready to celebrate (the market stalls were crazy!).
Thank you to Yahya and his mother for such a lovely experience!

Amazing authentic local family cooking experience - Amazing local hosts truly invited us into their home, family, and culture!!! Imad picked us up and took us shopping at their local market. They have a guy for each ingredient. Then we went back to his mother’s home. She, his sister, and Imad all helped us to learn about Moroccan food, we helped prep, and shared lots of laughs. Mom kept correcting son because of course he can’t do it “right.” It was such a fun experience! We loved all the food and joining their family for the evening. Highly recommend.

Perfect local experience - Amazing cooking class and market visit with Yahya and Soumia! You start the experience with a visit to the local market where you can decide what kind of food you want to cook and then you go to their home and enjoy the local cuisine. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing - Absolutely amazing and perfect experience. From being picked up at our hotel, to meeting with the family in the market to pick out the food for our meal, to the family's beautiful home, we were completely at ease. We assisted in the full meal preparation and were given step by step instructions along the way. All of our questions about the food, local customs, and Morocco culture. The meal was the best meal we had during our entire trip. The family, home, and experience was perfect!

Excellent experience! - I was a little hesitant at first to go to someone's personal home to do this...but this was literally the best meal we had while in ALL of Morocco! The family was so welcoming! Their home was very clean. Our main contact (Ihmed?) was the brother and he spoke pretty fluent English. The mom was so very hospitable, funny and friendly. And the 2 sisters were also helpful and friendly. The 4 of us felt very safe going to a marker near their home with them to pick out all of the fresh food and spices to make our meal. Highly recommend doing this! It was truly authentic! And our most favorite experience while here.

Authentic experience! - Fantastic, authentic experience! Yahya (son, 37) spent an hour walking with us through the local food market and we bought the items we needed to prepare our meals. We loved this part of the experience as much as we did preparing/ cooking and eating the food. He showed us all of the different local spices, veggies, etc. Spent another 3 hrs at their house/ apartment, helping his mother prepare, cook and eating the traditional Moroccan food. Very authentic experience with wonderful food. Sooooo much food. Mint tea, cookies, three salads, two main courses and wonderful fruit/ cookies for desert. 100% recommend. Would definitely do it again!
