Outstanding Guided Tour of Fez with Mouanis - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Guided Tour of Fez with Mouanis We had an absolutely fantastic full-day tour of Fez with Mouanis and could not recommend him more highly. The day began with a driving tour outside the Medina, where we visited several beautiful viewpoints and saw the Royal Palace area, which provided great context and orientation before heading inside the city. The walking tour through the Medina was truly fascinating. It was incredible to experience a place that is not just a tourist attraction, but a living, working city where locals still live and carry out daily life much as they have for centuries. Mouanis did an excellent job explaining the history, structure, and culture of the Medina, making it both engaging and educational. We visited museums, viewed mosques from the outside, saw the world’s oldest university, and learned so much about the history and significance of Fez. One of the highlights was learning about the traditional craftsmen. We visited a pottery workshop, a metal plate decorating and carving shop, the tannery, a male weaver working on a loom, and a female weaver hand-weaving an extraordinary rug. Watching these artisans at work was unforgettable. What truly set this tour apart was the complete lack of pressure to buy anything. We were free to observe, ask questions, and learn, without feeling pushed or uncomfortable—and in fact, we didn’t buy anything at all. The focus was clearly on education, culture, and genuine experience. Mouanis clearly cares deeply about the people of Fez and has genuine relationships throughout the Medina. As we walked through the streets, he was constantly greeting friends and acquaintances, which made it clear that he is truly part of the community. We also noticed him tipping some of the craftsmen we observed, which spoke volumes about his respect for their work and his commitment to supporting the local people. Mouanis is knowledgeable, professional, and deeply passionate about Fez and its history. This tour was the perfect way to understand the city, its people, and its traditions. A truly enriching experience and a highlight of our trip to Morocco. Highly recommended!

Tour in the Medina of Fes - We spent a wonderful afternoon in the Medina of Fes! The guide picked us up from our Riad and accompanied us for 4 hours in the maze of the medina where we could visit the main monuments and several authentic shops where we could observe artisans at work. We highly recommend this experience, the guide is very nice, attentive and ready to answer all questions!

Better than I thought, so happy I went. Possible despite mobility issues - We initially booked this particular activity by mistake. I was looking for a car tour and a private one, because I have mobility issues and use a walking stick. I can walk but not too fast or rushed. It was very important that I went at my own pace hence why it had to be private. However after booking, I realised during conversation with Mouanis, that it was a walking tour and a group tour. I messaged to tell Mouanis the situation and why I needed to go at my own pace and he very kindly decided to block that time slot so that no one else would book it, it was just my party of 3 people. I sincerely appreciate that kind gesture. Mouanis is very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. He went at my pace and gave us enough time to shop or look around at the places we stopped by. He also arranged for a car to pick us up and drop us afterward. Also we had different stops for me to rest and catch my breath. I got told all the history behind the medina. I saw the cooperative women breaking the argan seed, how they wove fabrics, I was told about the 9400 streets, the first university in the world, the museum by the Najjarine souq among many others. Please do not hesitate to book this tour. Mouanis is a perfect gentleman and very knowledgeable. I can't wait to return to Fez and have him take me around and maybe host me this time at his Riad. Thank you Mouanis for such a lovely experience

A short but highly informative tour - I did a “half” tour of the Medina (Fes El Bali) with Mouaniss. It was about 2 hours and half long, but quite dense and very informative. The tour included the Nejjarine Foundouk/museum, the Kairaouine university & mosque, As-Seffarine square, Zaouia of Moulay Idriss II place, the tanneries, and multiple souks. I got to talk to a number of craftsmen at their shop, which was nice. There was no pressure to buy anything (unlike in some other places I have been before). Apart from learning about Fes, its culture, and history, after this tour a lot more confident about navigating the Medina on my own. Thanks, Mouaniss!

Fantastic time on Fes - Mouannis took excellent care of us! We were a large and picky group and had many things we wanted to do - he designed a detailed itinerary that was exactly what we had in mind (even if we didn’t articulate it well). We learned so much! Can’t recommend him highly enough!

An interesting and informative trip - We had a fabulous tour with Mouanis. His knowledge of the medina and wider culture was excellent which made for an interesting and informative few hours visiting all the main sites whilst navigating the medina streets which would have been near impossible on our own!
