This cooking experience... - This cooking experience was amazing, Yassine welcomed us into her beautiful home and taught us step by step how to make dishes from a selected menu. I would definitely recommend this to someone who wants to taste authentic Moroccan food.

Get a glimpse of local life and learn to cook in Btissem's lovely home. - I was looking for a local cooking experience in someone's home and this was it! It was really interesting to visit someone in their home. Btissem was friendly, spoke good english and helped me learn to make the dish I'd chosen - tagine with beef and carmelised prunes. The place was immaculate and it turned out it was a private lesson. If you want to learn to cook like a local I highly recommend Btissem!

A Glimpse of Heaven - Our host, Btissam, and mother Maria live in a modest flat outside the medina up on a hillside. It is not a commercial property, which is exactly what we wanted to avoid. The experience was most authentic. Btissam met our private tour van at the end of the block in her neighborhood and walked us to their home. She had everything well organized, and her direction was so pleasant and cheerful. We prepared three main dishes and additional sides, beginning with food preparation. I discovered that my friend Tom has no idea how to dice an onion!!! The entire morning was so enjoyable. Our wives learned how to make couscous that tastes ridiculously good, not the dry and flavorless that we are accustomed to here at home. Our finished meal was amazing. We ate in the family dining room, and we were served mint tea, of course. But the special bonus was when Maria, who does not speak English motioned for us to follow her to the roof of their building to see her private heaven, if I am translating correctly. And heaven it was with a spectacular 180 degree view of Fes and the entire medina. It took our breath away.

A lovely looking lesson and dining experience! - We were given a range of recipes to choose from the day before. When we arrived, the ingredients and eqiupment were already laid out. Our teacher/host was friendly and helpful, explaining the different dishes, ingredients (especially the different spices!). The location is in a fairly plain-looking apartment, but we found the locals very helpful in pointing us towards Dar Yassine.

Best cooking experience! - Highly recommend booking a cooking class while in Morocco! We enjoyed our time and earned extra appreciation for the Moroccan dishes as we learned how much preparation goes into cooking these meals. The experience was fun and the food at the end was amazing. We are very basic cooks and received easy tasks! Highly recommend!

Good food but wished I could've learned more - This was a mixed bag for me. I love taking cooking classes when I'm abroad because I enjoy learning for to make local dishes and learning more about the culture and cooking methods. This proved impossible since the cook didn't speak any English. The experience started with a pickup who was solely there for transport to the cook's home. Once there, I was greeted with the cook and I think, her grandson? Her grandson did most of the translating but since he wasn't in the kitchen most of the time, we had to communicate through hand signals. The cook was super sweet and she tried her best to communicate with me and the tagine turned out fantastic, better than some of dishes that I've ordered at restaurants. I was surprised that I wasn't given a recipe so that I knew how to make it again. Beyond the communication barrier, the transport was a bit odd. I was told that it would be 40 dirham each way, I give the guy a 100 bill and then asks for an additional 10 and gives me a 20 back. Did he just give himself a tip? The cook was sweet but I think I would've enjoyed it more if she and somebody couldn't explained the process more.. I'm paying for a class after all I'm here to learn.

Nice experience although... - Nice experience although more interactivity and sharing about traditions and culture would be great. Upgrade of the kitchen equipment would also be warranted. The area where it is located is however a bit dodgy in the evening, I highly recommend to organize transport in advance as several taxis didn’t want to travel in the area in the evening.
