Merzouga Desert - The 3-day desert tour to Marrakech begins with an early pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Fes. The journey heads south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, renowned for its cool climate, snow, and alpine-style architecture, earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” The tour continues to the Cedars Forest, home to the Barbary Macaques, where visitors can enjoy feeding them while exploring the forest. The next stop is Midelt for a delightful lunch. The adventure proceeds to the Sahara Desert, traversing the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and following the Ziz River.
Upon arrival at the Merzouga Sahara Desert, travelers switch to camels to traverse the sandy landscape. A pause is made to witness the enchanting sunset atop a high dune. Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah- Marrakech
Marrakech - The day begins with breakfast in Ouarzazate, a desert city known as the “Hollywood of Africa” for its film studios and kasbahs. After a brief visit to the city’s highlights, the tour continues to the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and Morocco’s most renowned ksar. This fortified village, with its earthen clay houses, towers, and narrow alleys, has been the setting for numerous films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Visitors have time to explore the site, learn its history, and enjoy its panoramic views.
The journey then crosses the majestic High Atlas Mountains, following the winding road of the Tizi n’Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters. Along the way, travelers can admire the spectacular mountain scenery, Berber villages perched on hillsides, and valleys sculpted by nature. Stops are made for photographs and relaxation. By late afternoon, the tour descends toward the vibrant city of Marrakech, known as the “Red City,” where ancient traditions blend with a lively modern spirit.
