Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Azrou Cedar Forest - Midelt - Merzouga
Fes - Day 1: The journey begins at approximately 7 am, heading southeast towards Merzouga, passing through several cities in the Middle Atlas mountain range.
Ifrane - The initial stop is Ifrane, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco.” Here, travelers can admire the city’s remarkable architecture and stunning rooftops.
Azrou Cedar Forest - The next destination on the Fes to Merzouga 2-day tour is Azrou, known for its famous cedar forest. Visitors might encounter Barbary monkeys and capture unforgettable photographs.
Midelt - In this unique city, lunch will be served. Midelt is renowned for its apples, offering the opportunity to enjoy delicious apple-based products.
Merzouga Desert - Throughout this journey, travelers will witness the breathtaking landscapes of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas Mountains. The route includes charming Berber villages like Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, Morocco’s current ruling royal family. Upon arriving in Merzouga at day’s end, there will be time to relax briefly before meeting the camels for an adventure in the sand dunes. The night will be spent in a well-equipped camp or nomad tent, enjoying an evening of drumming and music in the Sahara at sunset.
Day 2: Merzouga – Midelt – Ifrane – Fès
Merzouga - On the second day of the Fes 2-day desert tour, early in the morning, the camel guide will awaken travelers to witness what could be the most spectacular sunrise of their lives. Following this, the trek back from the camp to the Riad will take place, where breakfast will be ready. After breakfast at the Riad, the journey back to Fes will commence via Errashidia and Ziz Valley, concluding in the evening in Fes.
