We spent a full day on a culture and history tour that far exceeded our expectations. Hicham didn't just show us the sights; he gave us the "keys" to the city. Navigation & Neighborhood Insight The Fes Medina can be overwhelming, but Hicham taught us the logic of the streets. He showed us how to read the signs to identify dead ends and shared the intricacies of our specific neighborhood. This grounding gave us the confidence to navigate the rest of our trip smoothly on our own, a priceless takeaway! Cultural Highlights & Hidden Gems The Food: He took us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch that was so good we wandered back to it the next day. We also enjoyed in Place Seffarinecopper work and the best mint tea( a shop hidden up a flight of stairs)of our entire Moroccan journey (and the owner of the shop even shared the recipe with us!). The Artisans: We visited various cooperatives for carpets, beauty products, and ceramics. We never felt pressured; instead, we felt welcomed by the merchants and learned so much about the local crafts. Hicham was supportive in helping us negotiate prices, it is an art. When we wanted to walk away he was quick to shuttle us out. We always felt supported. The History: Hicham is a storyteller. His deep knowledge of the Medina’s history and culture brought every alleyway to life. It really was an amazing experience. Verdict Hicham was truly our favorite part of our trip.
