Pamukkale, meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey. The area is renowned for its carbonate mineral deposits left by the flow of thermal spring water. It is situated in Turkey’s Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which enjoys a temperate climate for most of the year.
- Pamukkale - Following the ceremony, there will be a breakfast break.
- Hierapolis & Pamukkale - After the hot air balloon experience, guests will have approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes of free time. They can explore the ancient city of Pamukkale independently, walk on the Cotton Castle, and take stunning photos. Those interested can enjoy the thermal waters in the Cleopatra pool. Please note that entrance fees for Pamukkale and the Cleopatra pool are not included in the tour. The entrance fee is approximately 30€ for Pamukkale and around 6€ for the Cleopatra pool.
The ancient Greek city of Hierapolis was constructed atop the travertine formation, which measures about 2,700 meters (8,860 ft) long, 600 meters (1,970 ft) wide, and 160 meters (525 ft) high. This area has attracted visitors to its thermal springs since classical antiquity. The Turkish name refers to the surface of the gleaming, snow-white limestone, shaped over millennia by calcite-rich springs. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, along with Hierapolis.

We combined your Pamukkale tour with a Hot air Balloon flight. This unique combination will take you deep into ancient history and offer you the opportunity to experience the ancient city at sunrise with a hot air balloon. You will first watch and photograph the ancient city and Cotton Castle from your hot air balloon, and then you will explore it by taking a long walk. Those who wish can then take a swimming break in the hot thermal water of Cleopatra Pool. Deriving from springs in a cliff almost 200 m high overlooking the plain, calcite-laden waters have created at Pamukkale (Cotton Palace) an unreal landscape, made up of mineral forests, petrified waterfalls and a series of terraced basins. At the end of the 2nd century B.C. the dynasty of the Attalids, the kings of Pergamon, established the thermal spa of Hierapolis. The ruins of the baths, temples and other Greek monuments can be seen at the site.
