Once all participants have joined the tour, the operator will provide an explanation of the Aurora Borealis, including what it is, how it forms, how to interpret solar wind data, and the planned destination.
The operator will guide participants to the optimal locations for viewing the Aurora Borealis. The travel time can range from 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on the conditions of the night.
- The operator may pause the journey occasionally to assess the conditions.
Upon finding an ideal spot for viewing the Aurora Borealis, or when it becomes visible, the operator will stop the vehicle. As the camera is set up, the photography session will commence.
- If necessary, the viewing location may be changed one or more times during the tour.
At the conclusion of the tour, the operator will return to Rovaniemi and drop off participants at their accommodation or chosen drop-off point.
The following day, participants will receive a link to access the photos and videos in the highest quality.

Above and Beyond Tour! Unforgettable! - I cannot rate our experience with Kun highly enough - we had such an unforgettable time with him.
Kun was professional, informative and engaging all through the night. We left later than the originally agreed departure time so that we could catch the best conditions in the best places. Seeing the Northern Lights is never guaranteed, and Kun was clear on this, but went above and beyond to ensure we truly had the best experience. Indeed, with his knowledge and drive, we struck lucky! We stayed out on the border of Sweden until 3:30am, soaking up the fantastic skies and sharing hot berry juice and cookies in our group.
We have already received our photos, and they are fantastic quality. Thank you again Kun for a fantastic night!

The Best Night of Our Lives - Let me tell you about the most legendary night of my life.
Coming all the way from Miami, Florida, we had one mission: see THE NORTHERN LIGHTS. We weren’t leaving Finland without witnessing this.
Enter Kun, the AURORA HUNTER.
I went back and forth on booking this tour, but the second we met Kun, I knew we were in for something special. He gave us the full breakdown of the night—where we’d go, what to expect, and what the conditions looked like. His calm confidence and good vibes were contagious. If Kun had told me to hop on a plane back to Florida because the lights were there that night, I would have done that...Period!
We drove about 25 minutes, pulled over, and BOOM— within minutes there they were. The northern lights instantly lit up the sky, and we lost our minds. Meanwhile, Kun was out there doing a full Olympic-level workout, sprinting and squatting around with his camera, making sure every single one of us got the best possible shots. And let me tell you—he DELIVERED. I can’t even explain how much we appreciated his effort, especially in the freezing cold.
But the night wasn’t over. Kun had another trick up his sleeve. We drove deeper into Lapland to a frozen lake, where he set up a cozy spot, handed us warm cranberry juice and cookies, and we waited. Then... it happened.
The sky ERUPTED. Every aurora color you can imagine—flaming red, neon green, electric purple—dancing right above our heads. It was so unreal we started joking that Kun controls the weather. Does he?
The photos I will cherish forever.
If you’re on the fence about booking this—STOP THINKING. JUST DO IT. Worth every single cent and then some. You will have the best night of your life. Kun, you are the GOAT.

Amazing 5-Star experience!!! - Kun, our guide, was absolutely fantastic in every sense, from the constant communication, to explaining us all the tools, sources and apps he uses to track the aurora borealis/Northern Lights, in order to find the best spots. We indeed managed to find them, and was a super star taking many pictures and videos, for several hours, always looking for the best views.

KUNBELIEVABLE SLAYYYYYY - Kun is AMAZING. He is enthusiastic and VERY very passionate. From prompt replies to detailed explanation about the northern lights to finding the best spots for viewing and photography, he defo delivered. It was supposedly difficult to see the lights ivo the full moon, fog and clouds but he made it happen 🥹 Making stops at every possible places just to capture nice images (and memories) for us, using different lenses (all the way to Sweden but we didn’t enter because it was cloudy). We camped and waited and managed to see the lights dance above us (green with red and pink 🤩). He made sure we were okay and provided us small snacks. When we were out of poses, he suggested some 😂 There were nobody at the places he brought us to which means there won’t be any random person in the background of our pictures (yay). He took many photos and videos of us. He was also organised and helped different couples take equal amount of pictures. I am very glad I chose Kun out of the other tours. It was the best decision I’ve made for this trip!! I’ll bring my parents to Rovaniemi and engage Kun again. He totally deserve a tip but I didn’t bring any cash for this trip 😩

Unforgettable Northern Lights Adventure - We had an unforgettable experience with Nordies Tour! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, and Kun was incredibly knowledgeable. As a couple, we were excited to learn more about the auroras, and we certainly did! He shared fascinating insights about the science behind the northern lights, how to spot them, and the best conditions for viewing. We felt so much more connected to the experience because of all the useful information he provided.
What made it even better was the photography and video coverage. He took stunning photos and videos of us in front of the auroras, which we will treasure forever. His expertise in capturing the moment truly enhanced our experience.
We were so impressed that we decided to go on a second tour with him! The first time was amazing, but we wanted to make sure we had the best possible northern lights hunting experience. And we were not disappointed! If you're looking for a professional, informative, and memorable northern lights tour, we highly recommend Nordies Tours. We can't wait for our next adventure with him!

Absolutely breathtaking adventure - Kun was such an amazing guide. He came at a recommendation of a friend who had such a good experience with him as well.
What I liked about the Aurora tour by Kun was that he’s incredibly knowledgeable and very dedicated to it. The weather hadn’t been so good in Rovaniemi and there was a risk that the tour could not start, but he did his research and found a window of opportunity by driving much further up north to avoid the cloud cover. Then the lights came out to play. We took a bunch of surreal photos. It was such a breathtaking night, definitely unlocked a core memory. Loved the warm drinks and ginger biscuits when it got real cold; what a thoughtful way to end the night.
Nothing is ever guaranteed, but I would 100% recommend joining Kun on this adventure.

Best Aurora tour out there, I’m sure ! - This tour is the absolute best thing ever! We booked with Kun, initially the day before our actual tour on which it was cloudy. So the tour was moved & it ended up being a memory for life. We saw the beauty of auroras dancing all above. Kun went out of his way to show us this beauty. What I appreciated a lot was to feel is passion for the lights. He was almost as pumped about seeing them as we were, which made the trip even better. He listened to our needs, explained all about the lights, he even stoped on little parkings next to the road when the lights came back out. I can only recommend this to anyone. Choose this tour, seriously!

A dream come true - The trip was a dream come true !!! The pictures & videos were beyond perfect 🙏🏽 so glad we chose Kun to take us on this amazing trip, he truly was the best and most passionate aurora photographer in Rovaniemi !!! I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to have a higher chance on seeing the aurora lights.

Absolutely fair in dealing with customers, would book again! Top! - Unfortunately, the tour was cancelled, but I want to mention the following very positively:
Communication was very good. We have always been kept up to date with the current status. Even when times were pushed back because the conditions for the sighting of northern lights were not met, we were contacted again and again.
Although other tours took place and we were disappointed, of course, that our times were postponed or ultimately cancelled completely, I have to say that this was the absolutely right and fair decision (it was 10:30 p.m. when the decision was made). It was in our interest and although it still had a lot of work for the provider, but no revenue (since we received the full refund after just one day), it turned out that Nordie's tour is absolutely fair and not looking for profit. Because surely you would have found somewhere where at least with the camera very, very faint northern lights would have been visible. Thus, the provider could have kept his money.
However, as Nordie’s tour is about sighting the Northern Lights and customer satisfaction is at the heart of it, this is not something that can be overstated. Thanks, Kun!
