ESSENTIAL if you want to... - ESSENTIAL if you want to skip the lines. (I didn't do the climb as I had my 3-year-old with me, but the rest of my family did, including my husband with our 1-year-old strapped to his chest! Amazing views of the city. If you get the chance, DO IT 🙂)

Still awestruck over the... - Still awestruck over the museum. It was dead in there when we went, everyone was climbing the tour or flooding the duomo, but GO TO THE MUSEUM!!!!!!

Under Renovation - The Baptistry was under ceiling renovation on the day of our visit so that was disappointing. The main feature was completely covered. Our wait in line was short but so was the visit. Your time would be better speny by going to the nearby Museum of the Duomo which is spectacular.

The history of the duomo,... - The history of the duomo, baptistery and museum was amazing! The crypt area gives so much information, please be sure not to miss this since it is a self guided tour.

Worth a visit. - We bought a reasonably priced ticket ( for the following day) which gave us access to the Opera de Duomo museum, the Baptistry and the Duomo itself. It did not include the Campanile or the Dome, but we didn't want the climb anyway! What I do suggest is you visit the museum first. It is beautifully set out and gives you so much interesting visual information about how the Duomo changed over its long and illustrious life. The Baptistry doors are exquisite, there are beautiful carvings and lots of other artefacts from the Duomo . Once armed with all the information about the Duomo you will realise that many things have been removed to be displayed in the museum. This is good, as you'll see them more clearly there. The vastness of the Duomo is impressive and in the crypt below there is evidence of Roman building, mosaics etc. The smaller Baptistry is even older than the Duomo. Here there are some renovations being carried out in the ceiling but there was still enough to see and learn about.

Great option - confusing pick up - Skip the line tickets in itself is a great idea, for busy popular attractions. However, on two occasions now when booking these tix for people the meeting spot is quite confusing. Duomo Piazza is a huge crowded area and not easy to find specific corners or streets at times. Both times with very different locations provided, we ended up at “the right hand side of the Duomo Ticket Office by the old phone booth” this location wording makes it so easy to find and to begin this amazing experience a little less stressed.

Make sure you buy the right tickets - We thought we paid for an audio guided tour. Instead we showed up at our meeting location and were handed tickets. They guy turned around and walked off. I do take 1/2 the blame but he was no help with what and where we could use our tickets.

Time saver! - This was not a tour! Just received a ticket to stand in a 10 minute skip the line entrance to the Duomo. This was a time saver but $42 included nothing- the Duomo is free to visit. I thought a guide was included or at least an audio tour.

The guide did not show up... - The guide did not show up with the tickets. When contacted via the Viator application they stated that they had tried to call me [I did not receive a message and had no issue with cell phone coverage/other messages]. Instead I stood in the rain waiting for them. Additionally, the church was closed and had been closed all week.
