Beautiful view of Florence - The view deserves because you have to overcome the 414 steps! Beautiful 360° view. Too bad the wire mesh prevents you from taking beautiful photos. Easier for photos at the top of the cathedral dome.

Everything went smooth... - Everything went smooth picking up our tickets. At first we were having a hard time finding the gentleman holding sign but asked someone and found him. The views were amazing and worth the climb!

Great to experience Florence iconic buildings - We all really enjoyed this experience. Early visit is a good idea as I think later in the day it would be very hot to climb 414 steps to the top of the bell tower. I chose this rather that the Duomo as you have to climb between the two layers of the dome, which, for some, may be a little claustrophobic. the Duomo is around 40 steps higher so not much in it in terms of the spectacular view you have from the top. its worth noting that there is only one set of stairs so up and down share the stairway some people wait for wider gaps to pass and others do not. the entrance to the Cathedral is timed and you wait outside closed wooden doors near the bell tower not where the queue is for un-ticketed entrance. when it is your time slot they open the doors admit you and close them again, i can see how people have said finding entry is confusing. You cannot enter with a back pack of any size, it goes in a locker next to the museum so allow time to do this. Ladies you need to have your knees covered so do not wear shorts or a very short skirt/dress. Likewise shoulders must be covered so wear T-shirt/ short sleeved blouse or have a wrap to drape. cathedral and crypt allow non flash photography. Your ticket allows you untimed entry to the Baptistery and museum until 18:00 giving you time for a coffee break / lunch the buildings are cool, the tower is not so pick your time carefully as hotter months will be a tougher climb. I would agree that there is not a need to climb both tower and dome. We were happy with the tower and stunning views, but appreciate others may much prefer the experience of climbing the Duomo

Beautiful Views from Giotto’s Bell Tower - I was a little unsure about tackling the steps at first, but after mustering the courage I made my way up Giotto’s Bell Tower — and I’m so glad I did. The views over Florence are absolutely stunning. The staircase is quite narrow in places, so be prepared to step aside to let others pass. Thankfully, there are several floors along the way where you can pause, catch your breath, and sit down before continuing to the top. It’s well worth the climb for the incredible panorama waiting above.

The bell tower - This was a self guided tour. The climb is rough but well worth it. The views were amazing. Thank god there were platforms to stop and rest

Top day! - 10.15 ‘skip the queue’ access literally enabled us to be the first two people to enter the cathedral. The cathedral crypt was fascinating. The tower was definitely worth the 415 steps.

Art, history, and breathtaking beauty - As the queue to enter the magnificent Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore was incredibly long and the tour of the dome fully booked, we opted to take the bell tower tour which also enabled us to visit the Cathedral, crypt and Baptistery. Climbing Giotto’s Bell Tower, with its 414 steps, is both a challenge and a reward. At the top you can enjoy sweeping views of Florence with the red-tiled roofs stretching toward the Arno and the dome rising majestically at eye level. The vast interior of the Cathedral, crowned by Brunelleschi’s famous dome, reveals centuries of art, faith, and engineering brilliance. Beneath the cathedral, the crypt of Santa Reparata offers a quiet glimpse into the city’s early Christian roots, with ancient mosaics and the remains of the original church that once stood on the site. Across from the cathedral, there is the Baptistery of San Giovanni dazzles with its golden mosaics and historic bronze doors.

Amazing View of Florence - We walked up to the top of the Bell Tower and were treated to an amazing view of the entire city. It was worth the cost and the exercise required to get up to the top. The museum (Museo) was also a very cool experience with lots of really nice sculptures and a comprehensive exploration of the history of Il Duomo. Grazie!
