Scarperia e San Piero - This winery estate has a rich history of winemaking dating back to 1465 when Lorenzo de’ Medici planted the original vines on the historic Podere Fortuna vineyards. Nestled among the picturesque Tuscan hills, which reveal a series of unique landscapes, the vineyards produce refined wines while honoring the Mugello valley. The region’s climate is perfect for Pinot Noir, with the temperature differences between day and night aiding in optimal ripening.
Currently transitioning to organic production, the estate mainly grows Pinot Noir, with a small area dedicated to Chardonnay. The vineyard adheres to biodynamic principles, treating the entire winemaking process as a cohesive system. They protect the land by avoiding pesticides, instead using natural fertilizers like recycled grape skins to enrich the soil. This method not only improves the quality of the fruit but also enhances the wine. -
Vicchio - The history of this winery is intertwined with the Bacci family, who relocated to “Monte” in 1985. Here, Sergio, Giorgia, Enrico, and Elena established their home and decided to plant a small vineyard for personal use. Monteprimo overlooks the vines, providing a beloved backdrop for admiration.
In 2016, Enrico and Elena, with assistance from their children Silvia and Duccio, expanded their vision by planting two hectares of Pinot Noir, founding the Bacco del Monte company.
Situated in Vicchio, the birthplace of Giotto and Beato Angelico, the estate is rich in artistic heritage and benefits from the valley’s distinctive topography and microclimate, marked by significant temperature fluctuations between day and night. This environment has made Pinot Noir cultivation increasingly significant.
The vineyard has a planting density of 5000 vines per hectare, utilizing the Guyot training system. - Florence - At the end of the day, the guide will return guests to their original pickup location. Guides can also drop guests at different locations if arranged in advance.
