• Piazza del Duomo - Piazza del Duomo in San Gimignano was the center of religious and political life during the Middle Ages. The square is named after the Collegiate Church, present since the 11th century, and its current appearance took shape in the first half of the 13th century, during San Gimignano’s golden era of economic and political significance. The main public buildings and the cathedral’s new facade, opposite the old Palazzo del Podestà, date back to this period. Today, the square is slightly sloped and features a brick pavement.
