Tikal is amazing - I took the 4:30am tour which is a good option as it is less busy and less hot. You stop at a restaurant before going to the park and you can have breakfast and drink coffee. You walk around for 3-4h and you can go up on some temples. Alberto was our guide and he knew everything about the place and the history of mayas. Really cool!

Great, worth it, I recommend! - When you arrive at the meeting point you will see shuttles, ask for which one is yours because it won't be indicated. Show your reservation and the driver will have your names on a list. Be on time ideally before. The road is partly under construction so it will take longer to get there. They will first stop at the entrance where the guide will join in the bus and for you to go to the ticket office and buy your ticket entrance (150 quetzal for foreigners) - bring a photocopy of your passport / or your passport you will need it. Then they will drive again from the entrance to the start point of the Tikal park visit. When I went we were not a lot of non-spanish speakers so with his colleague the guide decided to split between them two: spanish speakers together and non spanish speakers together. This way they were more efficient for the visit, doing the tour only in spanish or only in english. Don't hesitate to ask questions on the way when the guide is not talking, they will be happy to answer them! This was an amazing visit. We learned about the fauna we saw and about the mayan sites. NB: if you want to see more fauna: go to the early visit, because in the afternoon (tour starting at 10 am pick up) the animals are doing "la siesta". There are many bathrooms and drinks to buy on the way in the park. You will have to carry your trash if you have. Please bring good shoes to walk, no flip flop, there's a long way to go. Personal story: I fell asleep in the bus on the way back and lost my glasses (eyeglasses). I realised 1 hour after they brought us back to Flores Island. I sent a message to the agency, and the driver kindly brought them to me, thank you sooo much you saved my trip!

Good value tour to Tikal. - There are a lot of other companies selling this tour, this one is fairly priced for what you get. Includes guide and transport, that’s all you need. You can have breakfast ordered there after you get tickets or you can eat before start of the trip.

Good cheap transport to get Tikal. Nothing else - The site was truely breath taking and it was incredible to see the ruins, but the tour was very rushed and we only got a short amount of time at each spot, I also bought a map and we missed out nearly half of the other ruins. We only booked this as it was the cheapest way to get to Tikal, and the group was way too big for the tour guide we had (not his fault) the company should really consider hiring more guides as 65 people between two guides is way too many, especially as some of the group were older /slower which meant we we’re moving at a painful rate. In terms of the guided tour we didn’t get much information. And would of appreciated more . But again I think this is due to the sheer size of the group and the fact that it was too many people. If I were to do it again I would make my own way up to the site and spend at least 6+ hours
