Awesome self-guided tour, and WOW to the history! - We love going to tour ship museums. This was the first Coast Guard one we have ever done. Lots of similarities, but WOW the size of the Captains quarter suite was HUGE! Many other surprises as well. Great battlefield true stories of what this ship & crew did.

A look at the dedication and Love for the USCGC! - I was surprised at how many tours the INGHAM has had, this ship has such a storied legacy. It was active and in Korea. It also saved many Cuban lives in the eighties as it also rescued many Cubans during the Mariel boat life. This small but mighty cutter has a storied to tell. It was also in active duty in Korea. I loved meeting 'Perk" he made the tour! If you tour the ship please engage with him, he has a wealth of the ship and I loved his recommendations for where to eat in Key West!

Ship with a valiant history! - The ship has an incredible history. The self guided tour was informative, and it was nice to be able to go at our own pace. Great insight into life on a warship "back in the day"

Fantastic museum ship! - An absolute must-see for maritime enthusiasts, history fans, or those who value the stories of those who fought to protect our freedom. In addition to a well done self guided tour, which basically gives you free run of the ship, there are multiple enthusiastic volunteers on board who are happy to answer and questions and help tell the ship’s story. Also, there are tons of historical momentos throughout the ship, which make the ship feel like it was retired from service yesterday. This ship is not just a Coast Guard Cutter that saved vessels in distress. It is a warship that saw combat in WW2 and Vietnam, and sank a german U-boat! Please stop by and support this piece of our history!

Docent is the best part. Go though the ship to store questions for the knowledgeable attendant. - The tie to KW is tenuous at best for this ship there is a Coast Guard station here and Navy airfield, but the maritime history here is largely merchant and, now, pleasure based. But the history of what this ship, and the CG in general, have done in the past is interesting. Full of exhibits detailing the ship's past and the current museum owner is trying to keep it looking good and shipshape (hard to do in salt air, not being used, occasional storms). The gentleman at the gate is very knowledgeable and freely shares his knowledge of the ship, the Navy and the Coast Guard. Some areas not allowed, and a coupe of ships' ladder climbs if you are elderly or physically challenged.
