Chimpanzee Trekking
Kibale Forest National Park - After breakfast, guests will head to the rangers’ post for a briefing on the guidelines for chimpanzee trekking. Following the briefing, they will embark on a trek through Kibale Forest National Park, guided by an experienced ranger. The presence of primates in the forest is truly remarkable. Once the chimpanzees are located, guests will have an hour to observe them. Afterward, they will return to the lodge for lunch and then proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Optional (no cost): If time permits and guests are interested, they may enjoy a brief afternoon-evening game drive/safari.
Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Guests should rise early for breakfast before embarking on a morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains. They will have the opportunity to spot Cape buffalos, herds of elephants, and possibly lions and leopards, among other wildlife. After the drive, guests will return to their accommodation for some rest and lunch. In the afternoon, they will enjoy a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. The trip offers sightings of wildlife such as giant hippos, elephants, and crocodiles, as well as a variety of birds along the shores. After the boat trip, guests can choose to return to the lodge to relax or opt for a brief late afternoon game drive before returning to the lodge.
Transfer to Bwindi through Ishasha Sector
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After a leisurely breakfast, guests will head to the Ishasha Sector (Southern Queen) in search of tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions is about 40-60%, though they can be elusive, especially when hunting in the grasslands. If spotted in the trees, the sight is both picturesque and memorable. From Ishasha, the journey continues to the accommodation at the edge of Bwindi National Park. Upon arrival, guests can check in and relax.
Gorilla Trekking
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast, guests will proceed to the rangers’ post for a briefing on the guidelines for gorilla trekking. They will then enter the Bwindi Forest for an unforgettable adventure. The rainforest’s beauty is breathtaking, with its steeply forested landscape and dense vegetation, crisscrossed by animal trails. The duration and terrain of the trek vary depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once a gorilla group is located, guests will have an hour to observe these gentle giants. Afterward, they will return to the accommodation, check out, and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by lush, green-terraced hills and features 29 islands of various shapes and sizes, creating a magical landscape.
Relaxation
Lake Bunyonyi - After several days of travel and the exertion of gorilla trekking in Bwindi, guests can enjoy a day of relaxation. All meals will be provided at the accommodation. For those interested in activities, the guide can arrange something of interest (additional costs may apply).
Afternoon Game Drive in Mburo
Lake Mburo National Park - After a relaxed breakfast, guests will set off for Lake Mburo National Park. This compact gem is conveniently located near the highway connecting Entebbe/Kampala to Western Uganda’s parks. Although the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks, it is home to numerous bird species and animals such as giraffes, zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, and elusive leopards. Upon arrival, guests will check in and rest before embarking on a late afternoon-to-evening game drive to observe the park’s inhabitants. They will then return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Walking Safari in Mburo
Uganda Equator - After an early breakfast, guests will enjoy a morning park (bush) walk in the company of an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger-guide. This guided walk offers close encounters with zebras, giraffes, elands, topis, and other antelopes, as well as Cape buffalos. Guests will take a trail to the top of the hills for a view of Lake Mburo and beyond, offering a panoramic view of 9 of the 12 lakes surrounding Lake Mburo National Park. Afterward, they will return to the accommodation for checkout and then travel to Entebbe airport for their flight (scheduled for 18:30 or later).
