- The Ancestral Temple - At 8 am, guests will be picked up from their centrally located hotel in Guangzhou and taken by private vehicle to Foshan. The first stop is the Zu Temple, also known as The Temple of the Ancestors. Originally dating back to the latter half of the 11th century, it was restored in 1372 after a fire. This temple is dedicated to the God of the North, the Ruler of the Waters. Although the Chinese name “Zumiao” translates to “Temple of the Ancestors,” it signifies that it is the oldest temple in the area, “the ancestor of temples.” The temple’s richly decorated ceiling, featuring numerous figures, is particularly fascinating. Visitors may also have the chance to witness a lion dance here.
- Nanfeng Ancient Kiln - Historical records indicate that Foshan’s ceramic workshops began during the Tang and Song dynasties, reaching their peak during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Shiwan ceramics from Foshan are especially renowned. The Southerly Kiln in Foshan has been operational for approximately 500 years, producing countless ceramic items. Visitors will learn about its history and see intriguing ceramic dolls.
-
Mt. Foshan Liang Park - Before visiting Liang Garden, guests can enjoy some local cuisine. Originally constructed during the Qing Dynasty around 200 years ago by the wealthy Liang family, the garden was rebuilt in 1882. As one of the four famous gardens in Guangdong Province, Liang Garden is situated in Foshan. It features charming bridges, houses, corridors, pools, man-made hills, and pavilions, making it a picturesque spot for photography.
After the tour, guests will be transported back to their hotel in Guangzhou, where the tour concludes.
