Spanning approximately twenty kilometers south of Rangiroa Island, this coral formation, known as “FEO” in “Paumotu” (the Tuamotu language), is both significant and remarkable. It acts as a barrier against the powerful swells of the austral winter, thereby slowing the erosion of the “motu” (islets).
