The adventure continues to the charming fishing village of Nazaré, where a delightful seaside lunch awaits. Here, guests can savor one of the culinary treasures: exquisite seafood! The day concludes in the captivating medieval village of Óbidos, a place where time seems to stand still.
- Batalha Monastery - The Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, commonly known as Batalha Monastery, is a Dominican monastery situated in the village of Batalha, in the Centro region, Beira Litoral province, Portugal. It was constructed in 1386 by King D. John I of Portugal as a tribute to the Virgin Mary for the victory over the Castilian adversaries in the Battle of Aljubarrota.
- Obidos Village - Located near the capital and perched above the Atlantic coast, Óbidos held strategic significance in the region. It was already inhabited before the Romans arrived on the Iberian Peninsula and gained prosperity when chosen by the royal family. Since King D. Dinis gifted it to his wife D. Isabel in the 13th century, it has belonged to the House of the Queens, who enriched it over various dynasties. This is why there are so many churches in this quaint town.
- Nazare - Nazaré is a village within the municipality of the same name, comprising Nazaré, Valado dos Frades, and Famalicão. Nazaré is particularly famous and attracts tourists due to its legends, traditional Nazarene attire, and notably, for hosting the largest wave ever surfed in the world by Garrett McNamara.
- Alcobaca - As one of the earliest Cistercian monastic establishments in Portugal, the Alcobaça Monastery became the principal house of this religious Order, supported by a consistent royal protection policy initiated by Portugal’s first king, D. Afonso Henriques. The medieval structures that remain make the Alcobaça Monastery a unique global collection, complemented by later buildings from the 16th to 18th centuries, which provide significant insights into the evolution of Portuguese architecture.
