Mont Fujisan: awesome, awesome, awesome !!! - Awesome, awesome, awesome !!! It was very much better than expected, even in a cloudy raining day, the places are wonderful and peaceful. The driver spoke pretty good english (better than mine), gave us all the better advices and we did alternative stops that golden the experience and the day. It is a different life after this introspective finding experience, in special with the driver Mr. Adi guiding and support !!!

Perfect day for Mt Fuji - We had Adi on our tour today. He was very knowledgeable in all aspects of the tour. The sights we visited on the tour were stunning and all complemented the beauty of Mt Fuji. Tour did not feel rushed at all with plenty of time at each stop. The trip felt personalised, and catered to all needs. Would highly recommended this tour for all wanting to escape the city and see some parts on country Japan.

Best tour decision! - Malik was very friendly and timely. The personal guided tour was much better than renting a car on our own or a large bus tour. He picked up at our accommodations and knew shortcuts and best places to go. Very glad we booked this trip and Malik was our driver.

Perfect day seeing Mt Fuji - We had a fantastic day with Malik. He came early as requested and made sure we had time to see all requested places despite crowds meaning we needed longer than expected at some stops. Nice comfortable car and driving. We were very lucky with the weather too and got perfect views of Fuji-San and sakura. Thank you Malik!

We left earlier than the... - We left earlier than the booking mentioned which was a good thing as it meant we stopped at Arakurayama Sengen Shrine before it became too overcrowded. It was a very sunny day and the view from the top was stunning. Oshino Hakkai is also a beautiful spot we visited in the morning, and we were lucky to be around before all the cherry blossoms had fallen. Truly stunning. Followed by Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine just before lunchtime. In fact, up until lunchtime, we were having a fabulous time and this would have been a 5 star review but... For lunch, our guide asked if we wanted something standard or something more traditionally Japanese and we choose Japanese. Sadly, the restaurant he dropped us off at was a tourist trap. The food was incredibly average but massively overpriced (possibly 3 times what you would have paid anywhere else), the service was dire, and it was possibly our worst experience in our entire Japan trip. Though this is not this tour or guide's own restaurant, being in a remote area and trusting our guide, we had no choice but to eat there and so for that they get a star less. After lunch, we went to Oishi park which is beautiful and offers again great views of Mount Fuji. We enjoyed a tasty ice-cream by the lake and then visited Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba, a recreated traditional village with thatched-roof houses. This stopped was not on the itinerary and was recommended by our guide as we were not interested in taking a speed boat on the lake or seeing the tourist/influencer spot of the Lawson Fujiyama view. One of the things I was not impressed with was being asked a few times what I wanted to see or do… I’m sorry but I don’t know, that’s why I am visiting the place with a guide. Being told “we will go where you want, you tell me what you want to do”, is not helpful. Also, on the list of spots mentioned in Viator itinerary are 2 things we weren’t taken to: Lake Kawaguchiko and Mt. Fuji 5th Station. Not sure why but again, that lost them a star. Sorry the review is rather long but I wanted to be as fair as I could. Overall, it’s not a bad tour especially if you want to be in a small private group and our guide did try his best but I felt he ran out of things to show us once we declined spending time in gift shops, speed boats or a random spot famous on Instagram/TikTok. Yes I would recommend it to a friend but with the advice to do their research first so they can participate in the creation of their own itinerary on the day and definitely select a different place to eat.
