A Day with Dino: Discovering Madeira’s West Side

Dining with the sound of the Atlantic crashing nearby was a quintessential Madeira experience that we’ll cherish.

One of the unexpected highlights of the day was our visit to Ribeira da Janela. The dramatic rock formations, rising sharply from the ocean, were a sight to behold. Dino shared that this location was used in the filming of Star Wars: The Acolyte, and standing there, it was easy to see why. The landscape felt otherworldly, and it was a thrilling moment for the kids, who are huge Star Wars fans.

Our final stop at Seixal black sand beach was the perfect way to end the day. The wild, untamed beauty of the beach was captivating, and the kids enjoyed playing in the sand while we soaked in the views.
