Ps. Remember to bring warm clothing. - Santana - Santana is a notable destination and a must-visit. This village is home to the iconic triangular houses with roofs made of wheat straw, dating back to the early colonization of Madeira Island in the 15th and 16th centuries. Few of these houses remain, and those that do are excellently preserved. Mr. Manuel’s House is a prime example, and entry is free.
- Arco de Sao Jorge - Arco de São Jorge offers a breathtaking viewpoint over the North Coast of Madeira Island. The lush green slope is captivating. The houses built on the slope are a testament to the past sacrifices of the locals. On clear days, Porto Santo Island, part of the Madeira Archipelago, is visible in the distance.
- Ribeira da Janela - Ribeira da Janela is undeniably a must-visit. A large rock rises from the ocean floor, captivating all with its striking geological formation. In March 2023, Madeira Island was chosen as a filming location for Star Wars, an epic event for both locals and visitors. It’s an experience to cherish.
- Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools - Porto Moniz, our gem, has become one of the most popular attractions recently. This village, embraced by the Atlantic Ocean’s temperate waters, is perfect for those who enjoy swimming in clear, translucent waters. Entry is not included and costs 3 euros per person. There are dining options available.
- Cabo Girao - Cabo Girão is one of Europe’s highest headlands, standing at 580 meters. Its glass floor is a major attraction, offering an extraordinary experience. This stop is a must-see.
