Beautiful Historic Home - Beautiful historic home. Really liked the handheld device that allowed us to each go in our own pace, listening to Mary’s voice describe her experiences in the home she grew up in. The construction on the roof repair didn’t impede our tour in any way.

Don't Book Through Viator - Cheaper Tickets Available at the Attraction! - It is a beautiful house with exquisite furnishings, a rich history, and friendly on-site staff. However, don't book your ticket through Viator or any other company on-line, as you can buy tickets at this attraction for a dollar or more less.

Galveston could grow into a 4-star tourist attraction but for now it is 1-2 stars - The weather was bad, I walked along the beach and what I saw of the village of Galveston is that it has no good connections to Houston and taxis take advantage of it to charge you more. There are no facilities on the beach, except a pier which also has rides. If you don't have a car or a moped, you can't turn around and it's not like there's all this nightlife anyway. We stayed at the hotel waiting for the day after we took the cruise. I recommend those who go on a cruise to sleep in Houston, cheaper and more fun.
