Discover the typical Tower-Houses of this region and the power and influence wielded by the Gaelic lords during medieval times. Learn about the castle’s role during the historic ‘Cromwellian blockade’ and the fate of the O’Flahertys as you enjoy a walk in this impressive setting or choose to explore the castle itself.
Clifden - Known as one of Ireland’s most scenic towns, Clifden boasts a stunning coastal location at the base of the Twelve Pins Mountains, where the Owenglin River meets Clifden Bay. As the capital of the Connemara region, this lively and cosmopolitan town is filled with boutiques, gift and souvenir shops, cafes, fine dining restaurants, and charming Irish pubs. Enjoy a panoramic drive around the town’s main viewpoints and highlights, including the ruins of the 18th-century Clifden Castle, before continuing.
Sky Road - Next, join the rugged Wild Atlantic Way route from Clifden to experience one of the most beautiful areas of outstanding natural beauty. The road ascends to a viewpoint overlooking all of Clifden Bay and the offshore islands, offering a perfect stop to take in breathtaking sea views.
Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Garden - As one of Ireland’s top tourist attractions, Kylemore Abbey and Gardens estate boasts a stunning lakeside location against the backdrop of Connemara’s wooded mountainside. Your guide will share its romantic history, and you can admire the abbey’s magnificent architecture and its 1,000-acre grounds, which include Ireland’s largest walled garden. Killary Fjord - Continuing through one of Ireland’s most picturesque areas, travel along the shores of Lake Corrib, with serene views of islands and castles, as you head further west to Killary Fjord, a deep inlet of the Atlantic Ocean and an area of outstanding natural beauty. Surrounded by towering mountains and home to seals, dolphins, and whales, learn about its wildlife and take in the panoramic views. Spot mussel and salmon farms, and perhaps catch a glimpse of a dolphin or two if you’re lucky!
Cong - With its postcard-perfect location, the village of Cong sits between two lakes and is renowned for its 12th-century abbey. More recently, it gained fame as the filming location for the movie ‘The Quiet Man’ with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara, which even has a local museum.

Dunguaire Castle - One of Ireland’s most photographed castles, this magnificent structure, built in 1520, is surrounded on three sides by the waters of Galway Bay. Yeats.
The Burren National Park - This region embodies the ‘wild’ in The Wild Atlantic Way. Your knowledgeable guide will explain the history behind its impressive ‘lunar’ landscape, formed millions of years ago when the area was beneath the sea. Stop at some of the most beautiful spots and viewpoints to admire the views, a plethora of wildflowers covering the area, and the flights of seagulls. Standing over 220 meters high and stretching for 12 km, this stunning coastal attraction offers a wonderful walk and observatory for the thousands of seabirds that call it home. The first observatory was built here in 1835, and today, this site attracts over 1.5 million visitors annually due to its incredible views of the Twelve Bens, the Aran Islands, and the Atlantic Ocean. Follow the wonderful walkway along the cliffs and take time to visit the Visitor Center.
Doolin - A visit to Doolin Village in County Clare is essential for anyone seeking an authentic Irish experience rich in traditional music and stunning natural beauty. Known as the “Traditional Music Capital of Ireland,” Doolin’s lively pubs host nightly sessions where talented musicians play traditional Irish instruments, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
